Pixar fulfills dying girl’s wish to see ‘Up’ I saw this on the Global news yesterday, but haven't seen much coverage. Thought I'd share this touching story. Quote:
It's these touching stores that make you look at life differently. RIP :( |
I like to hear stories like this but at the same time they make me feel so bad for the child and the family. I try and put my self in that parents shoes but I can't even imagine, so bitter sweet and out right heart wrenching. |
wow sad |
Why didn't they just buy the DVD for her instead of having to contact someone from Pixar so they could bring the DVD? |

In the end, she died with a smile. That's all that matters. Kudos to Pixar. RIP. |
I don't think it's out on DVD yet... the movie came out 3 months ago. |
how the fuck do you get cancer at age 10...?????? and kudos to Pixar RIP. |
old news |
Props to pixar... that's sad to hear |
Wow, that story is completely FALSE!! I remember my co worker telling me this story a few months back when UP just came out in theaters and my co-worker's son has a serious ailment as well. He was telling me how this situation made him cry. When the movie came out, the request was indeed made to Pixar for a copy to be lent to the family so the ill child can view the movie without leaving house. Guess what? Pixar rejected the offer, saying that the family would have to sign all these papers for viewing the DVD of the movie and they would have the DVD - all this action was supposedly too much of a hassle for Pixar. The family pleaded for their dying child's wish and the company refused. Local media heard about this story and published it. Pixar Senior Marketing Management finally provided a DVD of the movie to the child's family only after the negative attention it received when the story was published. When the child finished viewing the movie, she told her parents "Mom, I'm ready to die now". Damn Pixar... |
^ WTF that's messed up of Pixar if that was what really happened.. |

I have a similar story that is local... My cousin (19yrs) who had AML (cancer of the bone marrow) droves a e46 m3, which he had a blown motor before he was bed ridden, anyways story short, Brian Jessel replaced his motor and tranny under the warranty policy. His car was a US car outside of warranty. The day he was told the 40,000 warranty job was completed and his car was comming home, he passes away. He always wanted to join RS but never had the chance to get to it. This was last Saturday,September 5. RIP brother.... |
