Business dinner preferably in Richmond/Vancouver area (Trying to avoid DT) Hi all, What is a impressive yet quiet place for a business dinner? I have a request from an non-local executive who is looking to impress his clients who are usually from out of town as well . He used to take them to the Marketplace in Shangri-La but he tells me that it's actually too noisy there for business. He would like impressive dinner that doesn't serve tiny/fusion food/French (No Lumiere/West/etc), but also a place that is quiet. Money is not a concern to him. I could only think of Five Sails at Pan Pacific... Is there any other recommendations? He would actually perfer not DT area. Thanks a lot in advance. |
If you want to be OUTSIDE of Downtown then you're limiting your choices by a lot but one recommendation would be Chop (http://www.chop.ca), it's in Richmond and it's got a pretty nice ambiance. More of steakhouse, there have been hit & miss with the food & service but it's definitely a nice place to take business clientele without entering Downtown or West End. |
if you know anyone with an entertainment book, that could give him some ideas for restaurants |
Try the restaurant at the Fairmont YVR. |
If by impressive, you mean the food, and not only the ambiance/decor, go to La Buca (http://www.labuca.ca/) |
Tojo's on Broadway and Oak. You truely are limiting yourself by not going downtown. |
Try The Cannery. The last time i went was 5 years ago but the food was excellent and I'm pretty sure it has everything you looking for. http://www.canneryseafood.com/ |
My only complaint with the Cannery restaurant is the drive getting in is suck a PITA since 9/11. Food is pretty good, still. |
Isn't the Cannery gone now ?? Pear Tree Restaurant in bby (suppose to be very good) Hart House Chop in Richmond Bogarts on Broadway Trattoria on 4th Ave (although it gets noisey) |
Cannery would be to loud for his business dealings. |

Chop is not sophisticated enough, the following are too loud: Cannery, La Buca, Bogarts, Trattoria. Get a private room at ShoreClub, the exact opposite of small bites dining (steaks): http://www.theshoreclub.ca/ Or there are also private rooms at Market. Le Crodocile is great for the food (French) but not sure if it is quiet enough: http://imperialhotelmanagementcolleg...rip-today.html If he wants, he can get a private room at Cioppino's which serves great Italian food: http://imperialhotelmanagementcolleg...posteraro.html |

- The private wine cellar at Cioppino - the private room at Capone's - Tojo's - Il Giardino? |
but Cioppino's is downtown. |
No, it's in Yaletown. |
