iTunes 9 - now with a better genius, library sharing and syncing across multiple computers, better app management for your iPhone/iPod touch. New iTunes store interface.
LP's are back - now you can buy LP albums through the store. Includes music, lyrics, artwork, etc... everything you could find in an old LP that disappeared with CD's
Additional content for movies - essentially the movie extra's and interactive content you get on DVD's. nice.

iPod Touch - 8GB is dropping to $199. 32GB for $299, 64GB for $399. enabling the use of OpenGL for graphics... this should be a nice improvement all around.

iPod classic - increased size to 160 GB, no change in price

New headphones for the iPod Shuffle, with built in controllers. The Shuffle's text-to-voice option is improved. New colors, $59 for 2GB and $79 for 4GB.

And the infamous "One more thing..."

Video camera build into the back of every iPod Nano. thinner than the competition (being 4GB SSD video camera's), more capacity (8G, and supposedly great picture (I want independant confirmation and to see some videos before i'm really convinced).

Added an FM Radio to the Nano. About time!

And adding a pedometerto the Nano. The only thing this device is missing is the kitchen sink!

And a larger screen (2.2 inches), and new bright colors.

everyone was expecting a new iTouch 3rd gen, with camera/mic and a new OLED screen.

fail. no camera in the touch. i was holding out and waiting for the camera version.

So the only improvement to the ipod touch is the open GL for graphics?

whats the open GL anyways?

I guess there isn't any point in getting the 3rd gen if the improvements are so minor

That's only for the 32/64gb iPod touch which were upgraded with the 3GS processor. The 8gb is literally the exact same 2nd gen model that Apple has been selling for however long since they announced it.

so mostly just stuff that realistically should've been out a while ago? the video in the nano is cool, not sure how much it'll get used though (or how good it will be, but we'll have to see)

160gb ipod.. mighty tempted... my 16gb iphone is not enough..

Nano's need to come in 32GB. I was very surprised when I found out they were still rolling out in 8s and 16s.

Also the no camera in the Touch thing was kind of expected. I read from an insider that the first couple thousand Touches that rolled out of manufacturing had defects.

Just wondering if you guys know if the new iPods are in-stock at BB/FS yet. I'm going to go take a look tmrw, but the site says they're still OOS.

i hate the new iTunes. anyone know how to revert the look of the library back to normal?


I like it when it had Genre, Artist and Album at the top so u can choose whatever you want.

There are three buttons between the now playing box and the search box on the top right.

Where does it show in-stock for you? BB/FS are both OOS on the site for me.

it's not exactly the same. the 8gb 3rd gen apparently comes with a price drop but it also comes with a weakened battery. i would rather pay the extra couple of bucks to have a longer battery life.
