Help me pick a new monitor

I know very little about monitors, so I figured I'd ask you guys.

whats I need:
-1920x1080
-at least one HDMI in
-built in speakers a plus but not essential
-preferably 22" or bigger
-between $200-$250 shipped

I'll be using it for watching movies and gaming via a PS3 and possibly a 360, as well at sometimes being hooked to my laptop via VGA but if there isn't a VGA port I don't really care.

So far I've found the 23.6" ASUS VH242H that I can pick up locally (Thunder Bay) for $223.99 but I'm not sure what the general consensus on Asus is. The other ones I'm kind of considering are the 23" Acer X233HBID for $232.99 and [s]22" Samsung SyncMaster 2233BW for $238.99[/s]

TIA for any input

edit: Samsung isn't 1080p

^ awesome, would a-power ship to Ontario?

also I'm noticing some monitors being 5ms and others being 2ms, would I notice this much playing FPS and such? I'll probably be sitting 2-5 feet from the screen

i'm not sure, you gotta check that with them

you won't really notice a difference between 2 and 5 ms

If you keep an eye on the Dell Sales, I've seen the Dell 24" go for $199 a few times.

http://www.ncix.com/products/index.p...9&promoid=1026 $180 with $8 ground shipping promo. 22" with 1080p may be a bit squinty though depending on your preferences.

http://www.ncix.com/products/index.p...S&promoid=1026 The Asus VH242H for $210+$8 shipping.

Plus since you're shipping to ON, no PST.

Ok awesome, right now the cheapest Dell 24" is $299 though? The 21.5" on sale looks amazing though.

roastpuff that Benq looks primo as hell, I don't think I can snag it before they run out of the specially priced ones but even at regular price it looks pretty sweet.

I think I'll swing by FS or something just to see how 21.5-24" screens look for my purposes.

how much quality/etc will I lose/notice using an HDMI to DVI cable to hook the PS3 to a monitor? I found an absolutely gorgeous Samsung http://www.a-power.com/product-10448-487-1 but it doesn't have HDMI in.

It's been on sale for roughly a night and a day now, originally 35 available. So far only 3 purchased. I say you have a fairly good chance, hehe.

just for reference sake i got my dell SP2309W for $269 when it was on sale. you can google the specs.

i dont' think you lose any quality using hdmi to dvi, it's all digital, unless you're feeding like hundreds of ft.
