Send a US money order to the Court house where you got the ticket.

yeah, i got it now.... but one more thing, do you get a receipt or anything that indicates you sent the $$$ for paying off the ticket???

I never did, I thought about that though. I've been down several times since then without problems.

I'm sure there is a number you can call to follow up with the money still owing or if the fine was paid in full.

Just make a photo copy of the payment.

i recently got a speeding ticket too in the states. I chose to dispute it and got my court date pretty fast. It's in 2 months haha so wondering what should i do? i've never disputed a ticket there or here.

Go to the court on said date, wait for your name to be called and if the officer is there as well, you'll go through the process of a trial.

In the trial, the officer will go first and give his side of the story, you can cross examine and bring up any discrepancies in his story to show your innocence. This is not the time to tell your own story. Remember to stick to his story and not your own.

After you have done this, you can either choose to speak and tell your side of the story or have the case rested and the judge will make his decision. Remember, if you choose to tell your side of the story, you will leave yourself to a cross examination.

After all is done, the judge will render a verdict of guilty or not guilty. If you are found guilty, you will need to pay. If not, well obviously you won't and are set free. Same goes if the officer doesn't show up and you do.

But did you dispute because you were innocent or just hoping for the latter of the the 3 options?
