amps install quetions (wiring etc)

i'm going to be installing my old sup/amp combo and my amp for my speakers in my new car


years ago i had only had the amp/sub so i've got the 8ga wiring etc for that

now in my last car the batter was in the trunk so it was easy to wire another 8ga wire for the new amp etc


now that i'm putting both amps in this new car i only want to run one wire from the front of the car back....i'm thiking 4 ga is enough? what size fuse (or what info do i need to be able to tell this?)

then i was going to use a distribution block in the trunk to connect the 8 ga power wires for the two amps.....also should be a fused block i would assume (same size as the fuse at the battery?)

your better off running 2 wires, trust me.. you dont want 1 wire.. GET 2 FOR MORE POWA!!!! just becareful when your connecting the power wires to the battery.. it could be deadly, other than that, its easy as fuck especialy if you got a GSR

it's not going into an integra....but same sort of hatch back type car

no because integras are so simple... compared to a benz or bmw...integras are just easier to rip apart

regardless of what car....i still think the right way to do it is to run one 4 ga (or larger if needed)

One wire from battery to trunk. If your going to be running 2 amps then you will need a distribution block which takes that one wire in and run 2 out. Something like this http://www.scosche.com/ecom/images/p...k4_4x6_300.jpg

I recommend getting a block that is fused so u have the fuse at the battery and an extra fail safe fuse at the block. You could also get an un-fused block for your grounds if you wish but it isnt necessary.

Depending on what your running 4 gauge should be more then enough. The size of all your fuses depends on the gear you plan to run as well. Your best bet is to go into one of the sponsors (ie soundworks) and tell them what you plan on doing and they will be able to further help you out.

ok i geuss i didnt explain too good.. if your using 2 amp that uses 4 gauge wire each(for power/ground) then you best be off with two 4gauge... or if you use 2 amps that use both 8 gauge, then it would be okay to use one 4gauge with a distrubition block to splits the 4 gauge into two 8 gauges... otherwise you would loose power... hope this helped

exactly what i was going to do, great thanks

now i just need to figure out the amperage of my two amps (forgot, it's been a while) then figure out which size fuses i need for at the battery and the dist block

for grounds i've already got wire from each amp i'll just ground them both straight to the body for now

any imput on those wiring kits, which ones will be good enough etc
