yup

feel bad for that idiot...

I was driving to Seattle with 4 girls 2 weeks ago and nearly swerved when they told me their Rock & Republic jeans cost $500. I berated them on wasting money when they worked at $14/hr jobs, and they seemed possessed as they defended how comfortable they were.
I dunno about you guys, but my $100 jeans are pretty damned comfortable.

Well that was a pretty retarded way to put it, but I agree that $150 for a shirt is pretty stupid.

if you think 150 dollars is pretty stupid for a hugo boss shirt, then you best be shopping at wal-mart.

good dress shirts start at 4 bills.

InvisibleSoul 09-17-2009 12:25 AM

What's the difference between a $50 dress shirt and a $400 dress shirt?

Ever slide an RR jeans off a hot chick before going down on her? Very nice. Well worth the money. It's like peeling a very ripe banana. So sexy...........

$400 fine Italian shirt != $250 (or $150 used) factory made shirt from Malaysia.

AzNightmare 09-17-2009 01:13 AM

Bah, designers's stuff. Although I do agree with the first half of that person's opinion, it has nothing to do with Canada. And I wouldn't pay $150 for a shirt.

Unless it cleans itself, dries itself, tear proof, fire proof, turns into a Japanese Gundam robot, etc. It's just a shirt with a "HUGO BOSS" printed on it. Nothing special, not worth the price tag. I laugh at people that buy designers' stuff thinking it makes a difference.

Anyway, you should have replied back and said, "If you buy the shirt, you'll throw in the gold toilet for half price."

oh, the differences are there. But usually subtle, and not worth $350 more.

The Designer vs. non designer debate has been discussed before, there's a thread in the fashion section. It's hard to say what is and what isn't a waste of money. Some people in this world and even on this forum wear $5,000+ watches while others wear $100 watches and think the $100 watch is the same quality as the $5,000+ watch. Other people think a $30,000 Honda is the same quality as a $50,000 BMW or Mercedes. Everyone has their opinion.

Vehicles I can understand, because the specs are laid out. One performs better than another. Watches... well personally I'm not a watch person. So I would say it would be a waste to buy a Rolex. But at least from what I hear, they are indestructible, so perhaps paying more to get that would make it worthwhile comapred to a generic watch. But clothing has to be the most ridiculous thing...

That being said, if someone has the dough, why not? I definately would try it out if I had lots of money. Anyway, not gonna shit on your thread, since this is beating a dead horse.

But seriously, you should respond and tell him the golden toilet is on sale too :D. Can't wait to see if he/she replies to that one and what he/she would say.

Harvey Specter 09-17-2009 01:35 AM

Let's just say the whole "designer cloth" subject is very debatable subject which can go on forever.

jbsali 09-17-2009 02:18 AM
