Leather cleaning products

I was wondering what would be the best interior leather cleaning product out there. Any opinions on what you guys would use?

Thanks in advance.

Lexol

I use the stuff that I bought for my leather couches..

i think it is called uv3

I use Zaino, Zymol and Wolfgang leather cleaners. The wolfgang one is the best because it does a good job of cleaning and doesn't leave a strong smell like the Zaino.

lexol brown bottle is kinda stinky, and leaves sticky shit feelin afterwards unless u wipe it off after

JSilver 09-20-2009 11:06 AM

Yeah I've tried Lexol before; hated the smell after using it.

Is there any particular exterior car cleaning product you guys use? Would you say that Mr. Clean Autowash is good?

Also, whats your take a NuFinish Wax?

It shouldn't smell at all. If it does you are using too much. Put it on lightly and buff right away. The Gloss it products clean very well and have a light leather scent which dissipates after a couple of days. Lexol works very well and is econmical as well.

As Ken mentioned, you're supposed to buff/wipe off after applying the Lexol protectant (the brown bottle - the orange one is th leather cleaner).

Another protectant I've heard good things about is Leatherique.

i didn't believe this at first, but SG recommended that i use mr clean magic eraser back when i used to have a leather interior car, and it did wonders for me :o

but i still think u need to use some sort of protectant afterwards.

Isn't Mr Clean Magic Eraser a little abrasive? I've used it to clean wax stained plastic/rubber trim and I swear it feels like baking soda on a sponge. I'm not 100% sure I'd want to use it on leather....

so... not recommended? :(

it really cleaned up my seats and leather couches at home. it would take me forever with lexol cleaner and i couldn't get half of what the magic eraser was taking out... there was so much black stuff coming off the hides i had to keep wiping it down with a wet cloth.

I personally wouldn't use it. Its too abrasive. Autoglym makes a MF cleaning pad that is great for use on dirty leather. It'll allow you to actually scrub the leather without wrecking it.

I leather cleaning brush like this may perhaps be a bit better than a cloth? Might get into the creases a little better than a cloth

I use zymol leather cleaner and zymol leather conditioner

saveth 09-26-2009 10:27 PM

i use zaino because i got it cheap. It makes the leather look really nice but it smells.

DarkVerses 10-10-2009 12:10 PM

mcguires leather conditioner with their leather cleaner works great, and it's easy as hell to use.

Anywhere I can purchase Lexol locally and not online?

911fanatic 11-21-2009 09:51 PM

You are more than welcome to come by and pik some up or try Lordco. I'm not positive, but I think they carry it as well.

Mugen EvOlutioN 11-23-2009 09:45 PM
