Just a FYI, if you're using the EQ on an iPod, I recommend not using it as most of them distort.

For those that ordered on the JR site, did you get your orders yet?

I've tried many different earbuds, all different brands, and I now realize that the only brand that is any good is Sony. Almost all Sony earbuds I try sound way better than any other brand, even more expensive ones.
That is the first time I've ever heard that.

Everyone mentioned most either canal or IEM's. Check out the yuin pk3 or ok3 if you want a true ear bud. Decently priced and they'll most likely throw in an amp for free. I'm selling my westone UM1 and Ety ER 6 if you are interested.

BrendanS 10-03-2009 11:36 PM

I still haven't gotten mine

jsoni 10-05-2009 09:40 AM

^ Same here still waiting
after reading some comments on rfd, people are saying it took roughly 2 weeks after order. If that holds true my pair should be arriving soon .

ipods...worry me. the sound quality of their headphones isn't very good, and the EQ's are horrible. I think there's a way to do a custom one tho, which is good.

I've owned the bose in ear, Shure SE 110, and the Sennheiser PX-100 in the past 2 years and i have to say if you're looking for noise cancellation Shure is the way to go. I got mine for about 70$USD on some site. Shure headphones are definitely more well-rounded in terms of sound quality, servicing, etc. The bose are nice+awesome sound quality too but def not worth the money ( cost me about 100bucks CAD ). I bought the sennheiser PX100 on boxing day for 30$. Best deal everrrrrr.

LOL that sucks, yeah mine came to $23USD. I'm getting annoyed that I still haven't gotten mine. I should have it by now, it shipped on Sept. 24...it's now the 8th business day

LC21 10-05-2009 10:54 PM

Yup, i'm currently using those right now. The sound quality is really good, but the headphones have little to no isolation. And yes they are over-priced. Nice amount of bass, the reason i'm still using them is because I love the way they fit. I've tried the sennheiser's and I ordered them as a backup, for 25~$ you cant go wrong. By all means if you want the bose IEM's give them a shot. They usually go for $99 every week or so at either Futureshop or BestBuy

twitchyzero 10-06-2009 09:35 PM

^ do you like boss or the seinnheisers better?

kluk 10-06-2009 09:47 PM

Bose sound quality is amazing. If you're the person that doesn't break/lose their headphones often, go for the bose in ear. Otherwise get the cheaper sennheiser.

Unkno 10-06-2009 10:09 PM

I have the EP630 and the sound quality is awesome. Just purchased a pair of CX300 from JR in case my 630s break

Shures have noise isolation, not cancellation. ;)

I have the e2c's (now discontinued) and they're pretty good for the price. Paid about $60 about 4-5 years ago and still going strong. Their after sales support is excellent too. My brother (who wears his for 10-14 hours a day) has had the cable plastic crack on his has sent his back 3 times (it seems to crack when exposed to long periods of cold which harden the plastic) and each time, they've sent him back a new pair - even though it's been probably 5 years since he's bough the original pair.

The only thing I didn't like about the Shures - the standard ear foams they provide didn't fit me as well. I ended up buying a seperate set of silicone ear foam pieces (that's not part of the standard set they provide) to get a good fit.

Also, for those who like booming bass on their music - the Shures are a lot more neutral so you're not going to get the boomy pounding bass some other headphones provide.

As for OP - shipping from US usually takes 10-15 business days in my experience. Give it a few more days and it should get here. :)

I like my Bose ones better. To me they sound a bit better and they fit my ears well.

sas 10-07-2009 10:18 AM

Bose is atrocious for the price you pay but someone has to pay for the marketing. Comply foam tips>bose fit

The ep630 is an affordable solution as are the marsh

jsoni 10-07-2009 02:49 PM

^ I love the "bose fit". The foam tips dont seem to want to fit my ears.
100% agree on the pricing, its ridiculously over inflated.

for $100+ you can get far better sound quality.
Monster Turbine IEM's are amazing if anybody is looking for a good pair of buds.

... and yes I know monster may make overpriced cables but these earbuds are pretty solid. Check out reviews @ head-fi or cnet.

HonestTea 10-13-2009 11:17 AM

The fuck are my ear buds!

BrendanS 10-13-2009 03:54 PM

wow...finally got mine today after it shipped on the 24th. Definitely good quality and for $23 you can't go wrong

twitchyzero 10-14-2009 11:33 AM

got mine last night..ended up payign $30 CAD total..damn lol
sound quality is great, but the fit and finish is mediocre...i would not pay more than $40-50 for this set that's for sure
