all i can say is holy shit google webcrawl index's FAST!

i did a search for one of the restaurants listed on sept 25th, and google search already put it up as a possibility.

If you want good white food.... LA Grille in the No 2 and Blundell complex beside Starbucks... everything there rocks and it's really cheap. $7.95 steaks on Mondays!!! This place is always packed.

Really good spider roll!

Tokyo Joe's is terrible. The imitation crab in the rolls are soggy and the sashimi is overpriced. I went since the reviews on a friend's recommendation and the reviews were okay on dinehere.ca, but was quite disappointed. The lady acts all Japanese but I think I heard her speaking Mandarin in the back.

If you want good and authentic Japanese food, go to Ichiro or Maruwa.

Jap food - ichiro in steveston is really good imo, AYCE i go to ninzaku..if you want fast stuff izumiya beside espot is not bad too..

+1 for LA GRILLE...appetizers for $5.95 and 3x the portions at other restaurants haha..

+1 for the hotpot rice thing at empire..the other restaurant that sells beef organs n stuff is pretty good too..

italian tomatoes has good pasta

pho place in nando's mall at ackroyd...

all those chinese places..kam do..li do...kingspark..

ocean harbour on number 3 road has good chinese food...

shanghainese place beside blenz in the save on foods mall...better than shanghai river..

oh...public market food court has a few restaurants that sells yummy noodles..like hand made and those shaved with a knife..

all i can think of right about now...

I've actually never tried anything but the sashimi and spider roll at tokyo joe's..spider roll, mm.......

Maruwa is the place in Ironwood right? i live near there but have never tried it cuz everytime i go it seems to be closed. Do they have other dishes besides the usual sushi fare?

alleluia in richmond beside E-canteen is nice... free refill on drinks too :)

but richmond has crap food... i go through all the food places everyday... I even go downtown or burnaby just to get lunch

Now that i know your family economic background... Its no wonder. To a commoner like me living off my own earnings ane a bit of my parents' middle class earnings; going to such lengths for a lunch simply doesn't make any sense. As well, i can't in through all the places everyday since in economic terms i am a "expenditure minimizer" whereas you are classified as a "utility maximizer"

Yup, Maruwa's between the Tim Horton's and Sleep Country. The only knock against them is the fact that their menu is limited. But the stuff they do have is good/fresh, so no complaints from me.

Here's a copy of their menu, from what appears to be 2006:

http://www.menuetc.com/v/menus/MaruwaSushi/ (crap, website seems to be down at the moment)

The menu hasn't changed much since then, but the prices have gone up slightly. They're closed on Sundays, and holidays, and don't open for lunch on Sat.

And make sure you make reservations if you go, even on weeknights (just in case). The seating capacity is only around 30-35 in there.
