3M Headlight restoration kit? Does anyone know where to pick this up locally? http://www.autogeek.net/3m-headlight-kit.html OR if anyone can recommend some products that would have a similar price point and deliver the same if not better results? Looking to remove the dullness from my tail lights. |
wet sand paper, rubbing compound, plastic X |
Don't waste your money Just pick up the 3m heavy cut polish. Hit it with a polisher with a wool pad or even a foam pad if your sketchy on how to polish (foam is safer). It will clean them right up. Just remember to mask around the lights properly. You can use a cleaner wax but it won't work as well and you'll generate too much heat and possibly burn. So just stick with the heavy cut. You can get it at any lordco. |
I remember seeing it in a local ad, but can't remember where. It was pretty pricey. Canadian Tire has Meguire's plastic polish and Princess Auto sells a lens restoration kit. |

tooth paste and a workshop towel or a cloth, I saw a youtube video about using toothpaste on headlight, check it out http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CKAshYmrExc |
They sell the kit at Crappy tire. Toothpaste is a mild abrasive.. so it is not big surprise. |
Lordco currently sells the 3M Headlight/lamp restoration kit for 19.99 It's on some sort of promotion. You can head over there. It's a pretty good deal in my opinion. :) Oh one more thing, I'm not sure if it's all Lordcos but it should be. I went to the one on 2nd avenue/Main if you want to know where I saw it. |

Looks like a lot of detailing products are on promotion right now but funny thing is there are no signs or anything telling the sale is on. I wonder what else is for sale. |
Wet sanding then polishing will give you a heavy gloss look no matter how hazed you tail lights are...almost any rubbing compond will work..my favourite it 3m oilbase compound. |
just use macguire;s headlight polish cheaper |
