Vehicle overweight sensor

I'm not quite sure where to post this..

Has anyone seen such a thing? Something mounted in the vehicle?

i just can't think of a way a device could measure a whole vehicle.
Like a regular home scale you have to step onto it to weigh, and over the last 20 years they haven't changed at all.
Weigh Scales for vehicles are still to this day, drive on to a platform to be weighed. So I don't think you're in luck
