Buying stuff online

Not sure if this is the correct place for this, my apologies if it isn't.

I've got an account with RBC and one with Valley First (credit union). Now how can I buy stuff online without having to get a credit card, or pay $35 to get a prepaid Mastercard? I just wanna buy some damn cables from Monoprice, and maybe the occasional other thing, there has got to be an easy way to do this shit.

TIA

If sites accept PayPal, you could transfer money directly from your bank account to your Paypal account. I don't trust those jerks at Paypal with my info, though.

Ok I'll check out the PayPal site for that then. What's this Google Checkout that MP also accepts?

Visa Giftcards you nub. You pay $1.50 for the card and then put on whatever you want.

You can get them at RBC. That's where I get mine for birthday gifts.

They take credit card and paypal.

But to link your account to paypal takes awhile.

No problem. I only found out because my card was scammed online somehow. Ever since I've been paranoid out the ass. There's a few other financial institutions that offer this but I forgot which.

How did you find out that it has been "scammed" or used?

Do you also have a US address? Some stores don't let you enter a Canadian billing address when ordering online. I'm not sure how prepaid handles the billing address verification (if you can just enter anything and it will work) so that's one thing you may want to look into.

I know Monoprice sells and ships to Canada so you shouldn't have a problem with them. Amazon is another one of the Canada-friendly stores as well that allows Canadian billing addresses.
