What would you say this is worth... I've got a guy offering me this as a trade for a 360 but I have no clue what it'd be worth, thoughts? Quote:

From the sounds if it, it doesnt look very good. What 360 are you offering? The P4 Dual Core is pretty outdated and the ram/HD/powersupply are worthless as those parts are pretty cheap right now. No high end video card is mentioned and that monitor is useless as well. If you really want a computer without having to go through the hassle of building/buying one yourself with the 360 money then go ahead. But you're much better off selling it for cash and using that to buy w/e you need. |
which version of a 360 is it, that makes a big difference i think on RFD walmart/FS(sold-out) had the arcade for only $149. that's brand new if you look in the used forum, there are systems such as below as reference: http://www.revscene.net/forums/fs-pe...4-t585423.html http://www.revscene.net/forums/fs-ac...l-t588341.html i'm not sure a new fan is a good sign, u need to state which video card, and everyone here knows windows 7 (professional) [genuine] is not worth much with the student membership deals |
Seriously, I would say it's not worth more than $150, and that's being generous. And he should be paying YOU to take the 16" CRT monitor. |

Every else listed is chump change. Power, fans, ram, all relatively cheap stuff. And for the CRT monitor, ughhhh I don't know ANYONE that would pay for a CRT monitor. People give that stuff up for free and still have a hard time getting someone to go pick it up. Like Invisi said, he should really be paying you to put up that junk/space consumer. And in terms of how up to date the CRTs are, well if you compare the CRTs with LCDs in the market, it is like comparing your old box TV with a new plasma/LCD HDTV. I'd go even less on how much the PC was worth. Windows 7 is probably just a copy and hence is pretty much worthless. I would be generous in saying the PC worth more than 130. The processor is the only reason why I gave this price. |
If it's an older 360, the kind that is pretty much guaranteed to RROD eventually, I'd say it's worth it. |
he offered it for trade against either of the 360's I have for sale: -brand new 20GB w/2 controllers (listed for $200 obo) -used Halo 3 Edition (just the console) and a controller (listed $160) (let me know of those prices sound off as well) From the sounds of it then I'm better off sticking with just my laptop (Turion X2 1.9GHz, 2GB RAM, GeForce 7200, 200GB drive) as it doesn't sound like this would game better and all I would use it for is extra storage. I definitely have no use for the CRT as I'm getting a 24" Asus in about a week anyways (PS3). Thanks guys. |
Not knowing what the video card is, it's impossible to say really. |
Lets put it this way - it's only of value if you have a use for it. The hardware is pretty outdated, and if you're thinking of flipping it for cash, you'll be hard pressed to find someone who will buy it. I'd only do the swap if you have a use for the PC. I'd probably peg the value of the setup at $200 tops. You can get a low end system nowadays that will probably run circles around his setup for a few bucks more. You already have a laptop so having a desktop is probably of marginal benefit. If you want more storage, just get a bigger hard drive for your laptop or an external USB drive. |
Don't forget that it's Windows 7 RC, which means it's not the full retail version. It'll need to be upgraded in the future to the full version. |
thanks guys, yeah I turned the guy down as the main thing I was wondering about was how good the processor is. OS means nothing much to me really as I run a whole schmozzle of different ones. |
