The transmission in the car is actually "blown" and doesn't go into the gears properly. The datalog was showing 1.6sec between shifts, so the turbo is loosing spool every gear change. With a clean pass the car should run mid 10's @ 136mph.

JikJaks car is sexy!!! He brought it to our shop this week for a dyno run. It put down 435rwhp which is around 600hp at the flywheel. Definately the ultimate luxury sport sedan:thumbsup:

thanks!
btw would it be possible to get records of my boost readings and afrs from that day that i dynoed are your shop?

Sure, the boost didn't log properly but the AFR's did. You can come by and we'll print it out for you.

JikJak 10-07-2009 12:03 PM

ahh darn, i really wanted some boost readings :(
thanks though! ill swing by tomorrow when i go to advance. :)

Iron Chef 10-07-2009 02:15 PM

its a shame merc decided to ditch the 5.5 charger in favour of the 6.3 all motor.

Meowjin 10-07-2009 02:47 PM

...why? The 63 produces more hp. and probably more torque too. and is better on gas if anything.

It's all marketing, if u go on mbworld.org and look at all the 1/4 times there, the 55 is faster than the 63 (stock vs stock). When you are talking about modded ones, FI > NA. You can make big gains from upgraded pulleys etc...

The 63 makes up for all that with the upgraded suspension etc.

JikJak 10-08-2009 12:53 AM

the 63 also has much less tq and its harder to get more power out of an NA car.
i definitely prefer that 55 engine over the 63.

anyone here make it to mission last friday? it ended early but there werent too many cars so the wait times were much shorter!

i managed to run 11.609@120.65mph

i need to work some issues out coz my traps are still too low :(

impactX 10-08-2009 01:01 AM

hehe do you really want to put a cage in your car? ;)

Z3guy 10-08-2009 08:22 AM

55s are faster, but the 63s have the 7sp auto with a clutch Vs torque converter........the 63s are nicer overall performance vehicles....I find 63s handle much better than 55s.....

So? What is your point, so if someone bought a powerful car and would like to mod it and have fun with it you have to flame him?

Fuck, then someone is going to buy a lamborghini and drag it, this fucking talon beats him and you will give him shit?

ITS a fucking choice and its for fun, hell this is just for fun its not even for real

If JikJak was doing this for real and want to make a drag car, he will do it... but if he just wants to play with his CLS let him be.

Also the drag strip is just for fun, just let him do whatever he wants.

If you got a fucking problem with it, why dont you go build a fucking car to go drag and beat him.

Inaii 10-10-2009 05:20 PM

Lol, so much anger in this thread.

your a fucking retard. I like the cls, and i don't care if it's taken to a track. My argument was with the 63 vs the 55 and that a majority of amg's never even see a track and its a luxury car therefore why the put the new engine in, instead of the twin turbo'd one. Better for a to b. maybe you should backtrack and read the whole thread.
