T-dawg Detailed: 2007 Porsche 911 Turbo Haven't really posted much on this forum, but since it seemed like some people enjoyed my last detailing thread, I figured I would post another one. Plus who doesn't like pics? :D (This car was detailed earlier in the summer.) Got a phone call from a new client of mine who had just imported a 997 Porsche 911 Turbo from the states. As discussed previously, he wanted me to do a full detail on the car instead of having the guys at the dealership prep the car Since the car only had 14,000+ miles on it, I figured the condition would not be too bad. The owner wanted the car in perfect condition, and requested for a 2 stage machine polish. I quoted him on a 2 day (15 hour) detail, but upon inspection of the car in person, I knew that this was going to take more time. Here are some pics to help narrate my story... The car was pretty dirty, and thus the damage to the paint was yet to be visible. http://img30.imageshack.us/img30/8885/004hil.jpg One of my favourite rear ends of any car. http://img40.imageshack.us/img40/8531/001ugv.jpg The sun doesn't hide anything... http://img43.imageshack.us/img43/2149/006scy.jpg ...and on the driver's side door... http://img29.imageshack.us/img29/5995/003eyi.jpg ...and on the WIDE rear fender http://img16.imageshack.us/img16/1302/002ykw.jpg Pulled it indoors, taped up and ready for work. http://img132.imageshack.us/img132/2420/008afy.jpg Here's the hood under indoor lighting. http://img29.imageshack.us/img29/9541/009dlh.jpg Here's the hood after about 5 passes and 3 hours of cussing. http://img30.imageshack.us/img30/1853/010ria.jpg After 7 hours on the first day, managed to get the first stage polish done on the front end. Time to call it a day. http://img40.imageshack.us/img40/1888/011duz.jpg Back at the shop on day 2 for another 8 hours. http://img30.imageshack.us/img30/2135/012lka.jpg 50/50 on passenger side rear fender. http://img36.imageshack.us/img36/8268/007gib.jpg 50/50 on trunk spoiler. http://img29.imageshack.us/img29/4006/5050d.jpg So, long story short, after roughly 15 hours of work over the first two days, the car was nowhere close to being complete, so I had to return for more work on day 3. No pictures were taken during work on day 3, but when the car was finally completed, these are the shots I captured. ENJOY! Total time: 22 hours Wow, can't believe it's finally done. http://img43.imageshack.us/img43/4463/img1653copy.jpg Awesome looking car, must own one in the future. http://img33.imageshack.us/img33/7250/img1687copy.jpg The Ferrari wanted some attention. http://img36.imageshack.us/img36/6127/img1648copy.jpg It doesn't look too shabby either! http://img33.imageshack.us/img33/2259/img1682copy.jpg Here's the obligatory F430 engine shot. http://img43.imageshack.us/img43/4379/img1693copy.jpg One more for good measure. http://img30.imageshack.us/img30/56/img1689copy.jpg I wouldn't mind the Aston Martin Vantage either. http://img35.imageshack.us/img35/9952/img1694copy.jpg Pulled out in the sun for inspection. http://img132.imageshack.us/img132/893/img1668copy.jpg Remember the swirls on this very same fender in the sun 3 days ago? There were nowhere to be found. http://img30.imageshack.us/img30/6229/img1673copy.jpg Did not expect this shot to turn out so well until after I loaded it onto the computer. http://img40.imageshack.us/img40/1144/img1675copy.jpg Reflection on hood. http://img33.imageshack.us/img33/4582/img1662copy.jpg My favourite picture of all. http://img41.imageshack.us/img41/364/img1659copy.jpg |
I love the pics. The shot from the front of the gargage facing the roll up door reminds me of Gone in 60 seconds when they broke into the Ferarri warehouse. |

Thanks for the comments! If you guys want to check out more pics of cars I do, visit Dubberz.com and check out my thread under the Store forum. Or I can just post more write-ups here :D TT: The last car at the very front is an Acura NSX. And the other P-car in the middle is just a regular Boxster. syee: No, I used slightly different products on this one. I can post the list if you are interested, will have to look back at my notes when I get a chance. ASG111: Send me a PM with car info and I'll give you more details! thumper: I will update the original post when I dig up the list. bensta: Sorry I can't quote on the forum, but drop me a PM and I'll get right back to you! Coach Hines: Yup, there were some deeper scratches on the top edges of the hood that just wouldn't budge. Still took off less clear coat on it than if I were to wetsand them out. |

Btw what feedback did the owner give you? :D |

Owner was extremely happy with the results. Some of you guys might know him, he had both the 911 Turbo and white Vantage at the Luxury and Exotic car show a few weeks ago. |
