did a bonehead move.... curb 1 TL 0

damn.. parked too close to a curb and forgot about it..was on passenger side and i decided to go right... well bam.. the curb rips a gash into my rear passenger tire and of course..curbs my rim.

Here are pix.. should I replace the tire? car seems to drive fine so far with no leaks. i just dont know how deep you can expect to rip into the sidewall without having to panic.

DAMN.. bonehead move on my part!

the rim is a easy fix imo, just the tires will be an eye sore

Doesn't look that bad - looks like your tire's rim protector took the brunt of the damage. You have to go significantly deeper to damage the sidewall IMO.

You'll be fine

yeah, you basically hit a very meaty chunk of an area of the tire, that little flare on the side wall where it meets the bead.

the rim, is just an eye sore as well, its up to u to get it fixed or not. if the rim is stock, use it as ur winter rims, and now it gives you an excuse to get some new summertime rims for the car.

You'll be fine, just be glad your tires saved your rims. It could have been way worse.

ouch... that sucks man looks like a chunk of meat missing on the tire but should be fine

The tire is actually pretty thick there. Probably ok.
