Disputing violation ticket

So last night there were A LOT of cops out, and of course I got pulled over because I didn't signal when changing lanes (So stupid) The officer claims I didn't signal 5 times when turning/changing lanes... From where I live to where I got pulled over, I don't think it's even possible to turn 5 times!!
The ticket is $109 and I just got a speeding ticket 2 weeks ago so I'm at 5 points! Is it even worth disputing or will I just end up losing at the hearing.

RS help me!

getalove 10-13-2009 11:09 AM

you can dispute and hope the police officer won't show up...
but in fairness you did break the law ... doesn't matter how many times you didn't signal 1 time or 100 times you broke the law now u gotta pay for it
$109 for a ticket is not bad

how many point was it over the years before you start paying for premium insurance?

ezol 10-13-2009 11:13 AM

I'm not sure but I know next time I re-new I'll have to pay $230 for my points.

But you're right, I did break the law and I should pay, but I really don't want to :\

getalove 10-13-2009 11:27 AM

you can go to court and ask the judge to lower your fine and plead guilty... u'll still get the points .. but a chance to pay lower... but since you have prior speeding tickets .. and i assume you have a full time job .. i dun think the judge would be easy on you

shenmecar 10-13-2009 11:51 AM

You got what you deserved then. Doesn't take a whole lot of effort or time to flick the signal.

Sounds like you'll lose the court for sure if the cop shows up. You should dispute it anyways though. If the cop shows up, plead guilty. Maybe the judge will be nice and lower your fines and let you pay it within a year or something. My friend got a whole year to pay his ticket.

this should be in the police forum and learn how to signal next time

tonyvu 10-13-2009 12:12 PM

Think about it... flick the signal, that'll save you $109

Alright, you admit fault and now all you have to do is take responsibility.

No one wants to pay tickets/fines or even bills. We all have to though because we committed the action(s) that resulted in that payment.

wuuhoo 10-13-2009 12:36 PM

is flicking the signal on that hard?

I mean it should just be a habit. well it is to me
everytime i want to change lanes, *signal* even if theres no cars on the other lane

you! 10-13-2009 01:10 PM

turn signals are mandatory for a reason

AzNightmare 10-13-2009 02:15 PM

I have a really big pet peeve for people that don't signal when changing lanes.

I tend to think of them too noobed to multitask...

There are a lot of retarded drivers out there but the average person doesn't have an IQ of 5. It's more like they are lazy or don't give a shit about the drivers around them.

Nvasion 10-13-2009 02:53 PM

i know alot of my friends dont signal when changing lanes... but for me i always signal even if its 4am and no cars on the road.

Good for you.

But if I were you, I would hit my friends upside the head for not doing something so basic that is the cause of a lot of accidents/douchebagery around town.

+1
Yaa, it's one of my big pet peeves too. I always do even on a empty road
it's very annoying
My dad almost NEVER signals when changing lanes and it just pisses me off when im sitting in a car next to him
But i can't yell at him or tell him he's wrong, cause then he'll get mad for telling him what to do

typical asian parents

Jsunu 10-13-2009 03:13 PM

I made it a habit to signal irregardless of cars. I don't know how people, who do not signal, does not get into crazy collisions.

Mugen EvOlutioN 10-13-2009 03:15 PM

dispute that shit and pray for the best

AND SHOULDER CHECK.

Fucking idiot almost ran into me side-by-side on the way home from work 2 hrs ago. Sure he signaled, then he cut lanes 0.5 seconds later.
