There is a distinction: A US "official" dealer is not allowed by US Corporate headquarters to sell a new car to a Canadian. US Gov / Cdn Gov honestly don't care as long as you pay the taxes. Nearly all of it is car manufacturers trying to protect their Canadian franchise owners. Quote:

Also, dont' forget about warranty if you're buying something new (or relatively new). Some manufacturers won't honour a US warranty in Canada. |
