Wow, interesting... guess it wasn't a bad thing that I went for my first - and possibly last - time a couple months ago... even though it did cost an arm and a leg for the porterhouse.

Vancouverites r too cheap

Vancouverites aren't cheap, Mortons didn't meet expectations since day1....bad location, atmosphere is OK, but Hy's and Gotham are better experiences than Mortons.

Gotham blows, Mortons rocks! Hy's is awesome too, and not its all that we have left!

damn, wanted to try this place.

crossed off gotham and hy but looks like thats the end of the list now

Hy's and Mortons are traditional steak houses... Gotham is a trendy place... Never had a chance to eat at the Morton's here but have in other cities... also they had a great happy hour... Free sliders with your drinks.. Sad to see an institution like that close in Vancouver... It's because of places like Earls, Cactus, Joeys, The Keg etc that kills all the good places...Catering to wannabe ballers... So many good places in this city that are in the same price range and far superior to these chains...

Hopefully we will get a few more restaurants like Market, DB Bistro etc... and creative places like Faux Bourgeois, Pied-a-terre, Boneta etc...

Also a new chef just took over at So.cial@Le Magasin in Gastown... AMAZING to say the least...

^ Shit seriously?!

I went to So.cial the other day and it wasn't that good, granted I tried the Prime Rib though..

Granted you tried the prime rib should be a good indicator. The prime Rib is such a good meat that even if you fuck it up a bit it should still taste good and given it didn't thats bad news in my books.
