How strict are they in the hiring process? I don't have 3 years of clerical experience but I do have a lot of experience in customer service. I am currently a student right now so I am available mostly on weekends and after 3pm on weekdays. Are there hours to be filled during these times?

Is it easier to be referred by you? Or should I just apply thru the site?

They are extremely strict on the hiring process. They will not lower their standards for anybody. If an applicant does not meet all the minimum requirements they will not call them.

As for your availability I don't see an issue. If you're only available on weekends and after 3pm on weekdays you would probably work weekends and 5-10 shifts on weekdays.

No problem with harsh times and not many opportunities around I figure why not give people here a holla. Doesn't require anything more then a simple copy and paste on my part.

You know what I have no idea on the hours lol. Oh and the whole Dec 09 - March 10 thing is because there will be a ton of training and you also need all the time you can get to get caught up just in time for the Olympics too in which yes we will be taking calls for them. The training alone will take at least 1.5 months probably. To get familiar with the job will take even longer. This isn't your typical call centre where your a specialist and only need to learn one thing. You literally have to learn like practically every city department.

The call Centre has one of the best locations of any office in Van. It's right under the Cambie street bridge right at the seawall (Vancouver side) You get the downtown view and all.

Haha no worries but I appreciate it. If anybody has questions about the job itself just holla. This is an awesome opportunity to get into a Government job.

Sorry for the confusion. Yes it's still going on. I just simply revived this thread rather then making a new one.
