blame it on counterstrike

Hot Karl 10-19-2009 06:27 AM

whoa now, some of these victims are better off dead. you bully these kids for years every day, you're gonna reap some revenge. it's just too bad they went apeshit in the school as opposed to just helping out their bullies.

condolences still, to the truly innocent.

The warning signs in my opinion did not indicate any violence towards others. The thing that gets me now in our society is the complete lack of social support towards suicides and bullying in general. It is not something that students should just "get over" and simply ignored. The amount of abuse students can face today is borderline assault in the so called "adult" society. Take it from a guy who has experienced this kind of bullying. Keep in mind that i am not condoneing these guys actions. Just point out how this can be avoided in the future.

That's why you see killings and fighting more frequently in urban schools. When you assault/disrespect someone, rest assure that retaliation will happen. Plain and simple. Does it warrant being killed? No. But don't bitch about it if you do get struck back.

The 2nd cause of death in Colorado is suicide? WOW

Noir 10-19-2009 03:45 PM

I feel for the parents. And condolances to the victims, but in a twisted way, I can see where Dylan and Eric's actions are coming from. I don't condone it, but I see it.

Great68 10-19-2009 03:52 PM

As atrocious as the event was, these 2 guys did get their point across, and it has changed the world we live in ever since.

[QUOTE]These days parents are so busy trying to provide for their family etc etc...that warning signs may be very subtle and hard to see. Interesting read...the mother seems intelligent from her writing./QUOTE]

Very tru

i don't see any warning signs, possible warning signs would be along the lines of killing neighborhood cats for instance, or maybe severe bullying of some kid. Breaking into a van ? please...we'd have to arrest all the crack heads downtown cause maybe they are mass-murderers too.

True.
If it wasn't them, it would be someother guys to go ape shit on a school.

It's sad to learn a lesson with people dying, but that's life. Sometimes it takes 12 deaths to save more people in the future.

+1. I'm with the mother on this one. Warning signs can sometimes be hard to pick up.

In my observation, and I have worked with a coworker who committed suicide, it's people who display warning signs are rarely a danger for suicide. Most of the time, they do it only for attention. It's those guys who barely show/hide any signs of distress/torment that are the more likely to be a danger to themselves.

Exactly, you never know about it until it happens with these kind of people.

How about looking at this from a different point of view. Would you blame the individuals who bullied these 2 kids for causing harm and death to the innocent lives killed ?

Think of it this way, you're stuck in a cage with a sleeping lion. The individual beside you kept poking the lion, lion wakes up and attacks you.

Discuss.

Were they even bullied, or are they just social outcasts? Like misfits discarded by society.

Good find OP.

WingHang 10-20-2009 12:17 PM

both of the shooters were part of a goth club..

the students of the school even said that they had feces thrown at them. no one liked these goth kids.

and the parents were the ones to take all the heat for it all, because the kids were dead already so no one likes to waste their time blaming dead high school kids. must suck to be the mother...she receives hate in forms of mail, verbal, and probably even physical.

she tried helping her son but her son would never open up to her.

and her son wrote a letter before the shooting saying sorry mom this isnt your fault
