Brake problem with my new Suzuki SX4 The brake feel of the car is very unprogressive. When I depress the brake pedal, the first quarter of the brake pedal travel is very light and is very sensitive. Even I lightly tap the pedal, the car stops rapidly. After the first quarter of the brake pedal travel, the brake pedal becomes harder and harder to depress. I also hear a loud "hissing" sound when I depress the brake pedal. What's wrong with the brake? The car is new with about 300kms on it. Thank you so much for your help. |
Different cars have different brake pedal feels. In my limited expereince I've found that japanese cars' brakes are fairly touchy compared to german or american. |
Take it back to the dealer. That's what warranty is for. At the same time it sounds normal. But double check for piece of mind. |
leaking brake booster? take it back to the dealer man, best to play it safe! |
I am driving a courtesy car which is a Suzuki SX4 Hatch (4800km on the clock) too I totally feel this problem ! At first I thought I was not used to it, but now someone is complaining about this too..! |
better than the corolla rental i had, freaken brakes were a on/off switch |
I don't know what to say.. good to have someone with me in the same boat I guess... from the info I gather, it seems like a brake pad issue.. |
