 oh well watever

i think some guy thought "hey, people are doing this with a baseball bat which is meant for baseball. Obviously there's a demand for this and it works properly fine, but if i make a tool for this purpose entirely, i can make money". And bam - fender roller.
If i make a baseball bat and market it as a "fender roller pro 5000", people will buy it...

 | How do you know it wasn't exactly the opposite where the guy was like "f-that I'm not paying $2000 for a fender roller to do this, I could prolly do the same thing with a baseball bat"
And for the record, you definitely had a bit more than a finger-width of gap. Unless you have fat fingers lol.

 | lol now i'm self concious about my fingers, because i coudl fit a finger in between where the fender was and the wheel...unless i'm measuring wrong?
and yeah could be. Either way, I don't see what's wrong with finding shortcuts to things, so long as they do the exact same job!

Despite some of the threads about Advance having poor customer service, which may hold some truth, John knows what he's doing. From the times I've dealt with him (and I'm going there today), he is skilled, experienced, and, perhaps most importantly, honest.
A bat might be ghetto, but maybe he can use a bat more effectively than most people could use a real fender roller?

I've done a lot of fender rolling jobs over the years and have successfully stretched the fenders as much as an inch with no fancy roller. In fact I've used the roller machine and prefer my old school ways of doing it.I charge 40 bucks and up per wheel depending how far out you want it.

 | The only crap part about going there is that
let's say an alignment is X dollars.
each seized tie rod would be 2/3X dollar more. Whether it's seized on not is defined by him.
fuck that.
I go to Richmond Frame and Alignment now since my cars are all so "classic".

For example, I refused to touch a Subaru in the fall/winter because the surface temps were so low that even a magician couldn't keep the paint from cracking. Summer, during a 25 degree + day is the perfect time to roll fenders on any car. The paint flows with little input from a heat gun.
The other issue is that with a rolled fender lip pinching close to the fender itself, gives a place for muck and crap to build up and hold moisture against the body panel. Keep it clean, and it shouldn't be much of an issue though.

^^agreed. Just make sure you try to scrape out the muck and buildup out of the fender lip every once in a while.
Gerrard [formally Keep Labs] now Serialnine also does some sick fender rolling AND pulling work. Stretch tires too. He's worked on my car, some other 240's and cressida's. problem is, he's super busy right now... may be hard to get a hold of him. www.serialnine.com | | | | | 05-18-2010, 12:28 PM | #48 | | Media Officer / MOD

	   | Hey this is G from KeepLabs, SerialNine, and Mopac. .
Just want to give you guys a bit of info and offer my services. I am STILL doing fender rolling . . .
I have rolled more fenders in the lower mainland than EVERYONE put together. This is not "tooting my own horn" this is a FACT .
I have been rolling fenders PROFFESIONALLY with my SAME roller since 2005. Before that I used to use various pipes and shit. . I have done more types of cars than i can remember, old/new/expensive/beaters/builders etc. I roll fendersPROFFESSIONALLY for various shops in the lower mainland. If they want to chime in, they can let you know who they are. . But lets say if you pay some high end shops for fender rolling chances are I am the one doing it. There are a few shops doing fender rolling now, but i have AT LEAST 4 SOLID YEARS OF EXPERIENCE ON THEM.
Average success rate is around 90%. Dont let ANYONE tell you they can do it perfectly because cars Vary EVEN BRAND NEW ONES . I've rolled fenders on 15 year old cars that dont crack. I've rolled carsSTRAIGHT OFF THE LOT that dont crack. . On the flip side i've rolled 1 year old cars that crack, and old cars that crack or have previous bodywork undetected by the current owner. .Shit i've rolled brand new cars that crack on one side and not on the other. .
As a general rule though, if your car was expensive NEW it will have better paint. Honda Fit's and Toyota Yaris's etc. have SHITTY paint. They almost ALWAYS crack. Here is the breakdown of Pricing/Services -A ROLL is simply folding the fender lip flat (flush to the inner fender). This is 9*/Fender
. It takes me however long it takes to do it as best i can both for looks and for NO paint cracks. This is USUALLY possible on 92ish% of cars. clearance gained from a ROLL depends on the car but is usually around 25mm or 1". -A PULL is beyond that. A PULL starts at 12*/Fender
, and about 50% of the time once I start pulling beyond a ROLL, it WILL crack the EDGE. This still looks good from outside and can be sealed up with rust paint (required no primer) But the inside (where the tire goes ) will have moderate to severe cracking. . Most People wanting a pull are REALLY going for a super aggressive fitment and plan on painting the car in the near future. Clearance gained from PULLING really depends on how much, my personal car has all stock metal fenders but is around 50mm (2") PULLED/SHAPED. -CERTAIN FRONT fenders are subject to price increases . Over the years i've discovered that front fenders are hard to roll perfectly without doing certain things. SOME cars require removal of the fender and modification to successfully roll the fender without causing waves and or ripples. Cars that require this are usually in the 12*/Fender range. Added bonus of this is that Wire tucking and additional clearancing are easy to do at this time. HOWEVER, MOST PEOPLE ONLY NEED THE REAR FENDERS ROLLED.
-OTHER services available include EXTREME wheel size fitting. This is basically entials extreme modifications required to fit a Crazy wheel/tire package on your car AND STILL BE SAFE TO DRIVE . Fender mods, mounting relocation, additional clearancing, suspension modifications etc. are included in this section. Example being 20x10.5+13 (245/30-20) and 21x11.5+19 (265/30-21) Tucking on a STOCK bodied G35 coupe with REALISTIC (3.5-4.5deg) camber.. Daily driver. Pricing Varies with each job, so just email me. . -MOBILE ROLLING AVAILABLE. Additional 3* I come to you with EVERYTHING needed to do the job in your Driveway (weather permitting)/Carport/Garage. -Tire/Wheel Package Consultation. . 5*/hour. I have Extensive experience with many cars and can trial fit various size setups to your car. Here are some examples of cars i've rolled and pulled. Nissan:
-S13/S14 240/Silvia (extensive experience)
-R32 skyline (GTS-T and GTR) (extensive experience)
-A31 Cefiro
-03ish MAXIMA
-Z32/Z33 300ZX/350Z/Fairlady Z (extensive experience)
-G35 coupe/4door (extensive experience)
-03ish Altima Honda:

Some others i cant remember. . But the list is pretty long. . Its been a while. Pricing is NON negotiable, You can call any REPUTABLE shop in the lower mainland and chances are they've heard of, and will recommend me. You can search here on Revscene under fender rolling, and chances are my name will come up. Feel free to PM any one of my customers and ask about their experience with me. I take tremendous pride in my work, and my reputation precedes me. If my price is too high, feel free to call any of the above mentioned shops that do it cheaper. I DO NOT guarantee no paint cracking, that is impossible.
Email me at Gerard@SERIALNINE.com to set up an appointment. please do not PM me on here as i rarely come on here. If you are savvy you can contact me directly either at work (9AM-6PM, Just ask for GERARD Directly.
