Granville Island Brewery to be sold http://www.news1130.com/news/local/m...19_184949_9252 VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) - A small but high-profile local brewery is being sold to one of the world's largest beermakers. Granville Island Brewing is being bought by Molson Coors from Andrew Peller Ltd., where it was the only beer among seven wine labels. Both companies are publicly traded but are not revealing the price of the deal, which they expect to complete early next year. Molson Coors craft-beermaker, Ontario-based Creemore Springs says the takeover will allow it and Vancouver-based Granville Island to offer their brands "to more markets in Canada, while continuing to maintain their distinct positions in BC and Ontario". |
So much for one of Vancouver's original "Microbreweries". There's WAY better local beers out there though... |
the beer better not change too much. they did make some pretty awesome microbrews, aka octoberfest winter wheat ale |
you can only get so big on your own, probably got a nice price for it |
yeah i hope they still make same old tasting beer |
I love their seasonal beers! |
