Educational Skills Instructor

North Shore ConneXions Society (ConneXions) works to support families and serve children and adults living with developmental disabilities or developmental delays by:

Providing quality programs and services which support the development, independence and empowerment of adults, children and families
Working in partnership with adults, children, families, Society members and members of the community
Advocating for and developing a full range of community-based services to meet the unique needs of each person and family

One of the quality programs ConneXions offers is the Computer and Adaptive technology (CAT) program. Within this program we are recruiting for a Part Time Educational Skills Instructor (ESI) to support individuals of all ages in their own unique skill development. This skill development can range from literacy, keyboarding, internet to other computer usage skills. The ESI may work one on one with individual students or as part of a small group depending on the number of sudents on any particular day. There may be times when the number of attending students is low so this time is used for program planning and assessment opportunities.

This position requires a motivated individual with creative ideas for facilitating computerized learning. The successful applicant will be able to create and implement new training modules, individualized initiatives for learning and help to motivate learning through active participation of all the students.

Applicants to this position must have experience working with people with disabilities or developmental delays. You must have program planning/assessing experience as well as knowledge of computerized systems and programs. All applicants must have a valid Class 5 minimum Drivers Licence and First Aid certificate with CPR training before applying Only those applicants with this skill set and with the hiring requirements will be considered for this position.

This position is from Tuesday - Friday for a total of 25 hours a week. The probationary rate for this position is $16.10 to start. Benefits are available upon completion of the probationary period.
