Rusty/Dirty Rotors

Can anyone suggest any products to clean rusty/dirty rotors?

I ran across a product from Canadian Tire called Professional Strength Brake Cleaner. I haven't bought it yet and was wondering if anyone has used it before?

Thanks in advance.

take the wheel out, if you got a drill or dremel, but a wire brush attachement and lightly "buff" out the rust off.

Rusty where? The vents or the surface? Surface is easy, just use your car once a while.

You can try Centric rotors http://www.zeckhausen.com/Centric_Advantage.htm works great on my ZCP.

Go easy on the brake cleaner.. rinse the surrounding area after you are done.

just drive the car around the block and hit the brakes a few times, the brake pads will take off the rust.

if u want to, for next brake change, look for "glazed rotors" the dont have rust if i let them sit around for a bit.

Don't cheap out? New Rotors?

This is on my '05 TL. I guess I described the "dirt" wrong. I only assumed its rust because of its orange/black color. Maybe its more so brake dust. But anyway, I actually had it removed using Meguiar's Hot Rims Wheel Cleaner. Worked really well.

Thanks.
