Demon's Souls For PS3 It got s 9.4 rating on IGN. Sold out everywhere. But seems not many people are talking about this game. Kind of odd. I JUST got it today. Play N Trade in Richmond has 3 more copies if anyone is looking. http://ps3.ign.com/articles/103/1033437p1.html Anyone else have the game? |
I really want the game but I can barely find it anywhere. There should be more hype about this but it's a hardcore gamer's game. |
Oops, wrong account. Phil forgot to logout. |
I just found a copy. I was seriously excited abt the game until I played it. It's just TOOOOO hard for me. I'm not a super hardcore gamer. I'm selling my copy if you want. Hoping to recoup some of the funds considering my gas and time I spent driving to all these places to find this game. I think that's what irks me. I wasted all this time calling and driving around to find this game. lol |
looks really cool. I want to get it but I'm not a hard core gamer either... |

Game play and graphics are pretty good. Mind you I didn't get far enough in the game to comment on all of the aspects of the game. |

Man i wanna play it so badly. I'm hoping Best buy may eventually stock it and hopefully I will trade in my old games for this one with their trade in promo |

I spent alot of time trying to find this game. Finally get it, go home and play it....... then end up swearing and wanting to throw my TV out the window. So yeah, I don't mind hard games. But when a game is THISSSSS hard it makes it no fun. You need to be an avid gamer to appreciate it. Problem is there is no save game option. So you fight your way to the boss, die in 1 second, then have to fight the whole level again to get to the boss and try and figure out how to defeat him. Without getting hit! I dunno, I don't have the patience for that. I think there should be a learning curve, give the gamer some time to get familiar with how to kills monsters/bosses. Instead they just punish you for not being l337 enough right off the bat. Just the first couple monsters you face do so much damage to you. Ugh. Good game if it wasn't so bloody hard. |

Thanks for the heads up i'll be staying away from this game:thumbsup: |
shit I'm ALWAYS saving. Def. not getting this. Damn I'd get so pissed if I picked up something kickass and then died. I get pissed off playing Uncharted haha |
where is this play and trade? And does anyone know if they still have copies? I've been meaning to pick this up for a while.. getting bored of passing my free time with just HoN or BlazBlue. |
yea this game is super hardcore you should always check giantbomb.com they usually do 20-30 minute quicklook videos of them playing games a tleast the more popular ones http://www.giantbomb.com/quick-look-...souls/17-1485/ |

Also there are ways to avoid dying and losing all your souls when you die. Just when you die, you can press your ps button and quit game real quick. You can play back where you died and save time having to restart again. That destroys the purpose of the game, but for you non-hardcore gamer out there.. you'll appreciate that. P.S: this game has a lot of replay value.. easily over 100+hours of fun. |

I just called them and left my name and number. They called me the very next day when a copy arrived. Very friendly good customer service surprisingly for a gaming store. |
This game is fun as hell, really lets you feel like you're part of the world and mythos surrounding it. For once there's an actual penalty to dying, which leads you to be more cautious, but its hardly a complete wipe. Picking the right class early on, and making sure you're more defensive and observant goes a long way. The blood stains on the floor of other dead players give you ideas of what might be around the next corner, and the message system is a cool way to communicate with other players. Pretty much just always gotta block, ensure you're fighting enemies one on one, and don't blindly charge into a crowd thinking you can just swipe wildly at the enemies and things will go fine. As for saving, everytime you return to the main nexus you 'save' whether you live or die, dying isn't all that bad, in fact often times you want to die to make the world tendency harder so you can get better shit. Plus if you're worried about dying, just simply spend your souls on upgraded stats or equipment before going out on a potentially risky stage. Further still, its recommended to not go 1-1, 1-2, 1-3 etc. etc. but instead to visit a bunch of the other stages first areas before you proceed onward. I'm assuming a lot of people get rocked by the red knight on the first stage, but pretty much you're supposed to avoid him, or kite him to the stairs and knock him off. As for the soldier and hero souls, just save those for a rainy day where you need to buy something, or need to upgrade badly, as those souls stay in your inventory regardless of if you die or not. Just gotta be methodical about everything, and very cautious, its a game that rewards diligence and using all possible resources available ( player messages, summoning backup), not blindly rushing into battle. Once you get the dodging, parry mechanics down along with proper use of your stamina the game moves into a nice rhythm when fighting other enemies. Overall I'm pleasantly surprised by how good this game was, as I wasn't overly impressed from my initial impression. If you happen to pickup something 'kickass' Jkam, you won't lose it just the souls you've collected thus far. Doesn't reset your gear and everything, just your in game 'currency' and you'll come back in soul form until you can either kill another player or a stage boss. |
I wanted to get this game but I don't think I can sit down and play this intensely |
I still want to get it. I'm just using the difficulty as an excuse to not get it. I don't think I have the time to invest in this game... seems like something you need to be dedicated to |
