how much would it cost to cancel my fido plan?
 

i picked up a 3 yr plan with fido and got the iphone for 2 bills when it came out... i juist lost my iphone and dont wanna pay a rediculas bullshit 700 bucks for another iphone.... i think it may be more worth it to cancel the 24 months i have left on the plan, cancel my data plan and just get another 3 yr plan and get the iphone for 2 bills..

i beleive to cancle the data plan is like 5 bucks a month... but what about the regular plan? im payin 40 bucks just for the regular plan right now. 24 months left.

is it more worth it to just cancle my plan and get a new plan with a new iphone

maybe i can keep my data plan? and cancle the regular phone talkin plan and get a new phone? would they let me do that?

I believe it'll cost you $100 for the data cancellation and $200 for the the voice cancellation. $200 is the max for voice ($20 x number of months) and I think it's $100 for data ($5 x number of months).

Data cancellation is 10 dollars per remaining month. Minimum of 200.

Voice cancellation is dependent on whether you're on the old or new pricing plan policies. 25$ per remaining month on the old cancellation policy. Maximum of 400 minimum of 200. Or ...the new at 10$ per remaining month, maximum of 300, minimum of 100.

you could just pick up a used iphone 3g or 2g for less than paying out your contract...just a thought...

the penalty to cancel ur plan rite now is $240+tax for the voice and $200+ tax for the data so you are looking at $440 to buy out ur contract, and once you have cancelled your contract/plan with fido you will have a 30days period where you'll be unable to open another line with fido.

as for your last question.. how do you keep your data plan and cancel the voice plan, and then signing up for a new plan to get the iphone again when it clearly states that you have to sign up for a *NEW 3YRS* contract with voice/data plan. so what are you gonna do with the extra data plan you still got? you can't just cancel the voice plan and sign up for a new voiceplan to get the iphone cheap and combine with your old data plan.. the cancellation fee basically covers the iphone cost they subsidues you for when you sign the 3yrs contract

But say if I cancel my Data plan right in the beginning of a 3 year contract, is the penalty $200 + tax (MAX?)? does anyone know from actual experience? Is there any other fee?

If you dont want to pay so much for it.
you can always try selling your contract to someone else to take over.

when i lost my iphone the first time i told em that i wanted to cancel, they asked why and i said i lost my iphone and i cant afford one right now... i never ened up getting a 200 dollar fee for that.. second time it happends im sure u would get it but i dont realy know.

well for my issue with this problem about losing phone, some guy on revscene was nice enough to refer me to this lady who weived my cancelation fee. picked up black berry bold and didnt have to pay cancelation fee :thumbsup: you would have to have your fido plan for over a year though if u wanna do what i did. if you wanna do what i did shoot me a pm and ill give u the ladys number
