It looks like a Future Shop install I saw today. Guy comes in saying his buddy at FS did a great job, but forgot to install a TR7. I took it apart and it looked like that! At least that installer used fuses.

There can't be anything worse then that.. this thing was actually working though. So maybe it could be worse.

Must have been a scary time adding anything, as it was for me. Fortunately in the end the owner asked me to pull the alarm module since it falsed to much for his liking.

wtf? a dealer did that?

any chance you'll tell us what dealer did it?

catalin 11-05-2009 03:18 PM

All I know is that it came from a local dealer that imported it from the US. The alarm came with it either from the US or here... It was an Audiovox alarm.

It seems like installers get blessed with those types of things when the Canadian dollar gets this high.

Have you considered taking it back to where it was installed and have them re-do it properly?

MazdaDragon 11-06-2009 06:06 PM

Its crap like that that makes us legit installers seem like hacks... wtf?! someone so doesnt have any pride in their work... though if it wasnt for installs like that we wouldnt get the work we do fixing that kinda stuff... I feel bad for ya if thats your car though... ;)

catalin 11-23-2009 10:32 PM

Here's some more crap I have to deal with. This was done by a subcontractor in Edmonton. There were 13 vehicles in total basically all completed in the same way. Most had the antenna hidden in the dash and no LED mounted on the dash... plus some if not all, I haven't inspected all yet, are wired to the stereo.. Have a laugh, cause I'm not.. :(

sadly the place that I got it done .... is the place where i work :(

they did it about 6 times already, each time has different problems
by this time you would realize this is a big box store lol

catalin 11-24-2009 07:06 AM

Yes in the top picture it's easily and completely visible through the front drivers window. The vehicle is a mail truck, it's already pretty bare with no panels on the bottom of the dash.... and these guys wanted to be paid.
