Just found out about the game today and it looks pretty good. From the creators of diablo so the game play is modeled after diablo.

Might buy the game if the demo turns out good. It'll launch tomorrow at 12! I'm not really sure but then there will be an MMO aspect to the game as well.

I'm not sure if its the demo, but if you bought the game, downloading it from e-junkie was taking forever. This mirror has speeds of 500-1000kb/s. I'm downloading at 900kb/s right now. Can't wait to play!

This game looks good, Mythos looked good. But don't forget, they also made the piece of shit called Hellgate London.

I guess thats' why it looks like a complete knock off of blizzards shit, way to come up with some new ideas guys. Even the music sounds like Diablo2 stuff just re-edited.

fun game, great way to kill time, reminds me of a refreshed diablo, definately could tide me over till diablo3. Has a host of 'improvements' which are very 'mmo inspired' like the ui interface and what not. But overall pretty fun. Worth the 17 bucks i spent.

^They're making an MMO version but that's still a long way off I think.

they couldn't get enough funding to build what they wanted which is eventually a free 2 play MMO version of torchlight so with the funds of this game they will eventually release an addon to the game that makes it an mmo. it will have no subscription and supported by micro-transactions like League of Legends

iirc the two head guys at runic were the top guys at blizzard north (diablo 1/2 devs)

this is diablo 1 with elements of 2 streamlined and perfected i love it, hell its $20 dollars and they have released the internal dev tools on their site for people to create dungeons and all sorts of mods.

torchlight could end up being more diablo than diablo 3, plus I love the fact that they have a netbook graphics mode :D

Looks pretty awesome, for $20 definitely think it's worth it.

how can they get away with this game and not get sued by blizzard? The game is exactly the same as diablo, even the sounds are the same lol

I found my first unique! Brings back so many memories.

well the two head guys were at blizzard north before it was even a blizzard studio and created diablo 1&2 and the composer that worked on diablo is working on torchlight. :haha:

very fun! highly recomended

I played the first mission.. I think it's good but.. It just doesn't feel right not to be playing this at a LAN for an entire weekend straight with no sleep.

beat the main storyline for the game today, really fun the items are nice and you keep wanting to find those unique or set armour lol

does this have any multiplayer replayability? is everyone gonna just be a cookie cutter?

Was a nice nostalgia kickback to diablo2... but ultimately felt like you were working toward nothing. Part of the draw in previous diablo games was getting sweet gear so you could go pvp, here its just shiny stuff with bigger numbers. I got through the hardest mode with mediocre gear and not even putting in my stat points completely (old habit from d2 pvp builds). Game was over before I knew it, and there really wasn't much motivation to keep on going, sure I had some uniques.. some parts of sets, but going through a dungeon and grinding endlessly with nothing else to do isn't exactly enticing.

Good game worth 20 bucks though, but until it has online and pvp it's probably not gonna hold most people's interest for much longer than one or two play throughs.

Did you do Hardcore + Very hardmode? I've just been plowing through the game on normal, but found it to be WAYYY to easy (as Gunslinger class, dunno what she's actually called) so I started on Very Hard, but may do Veryhard + Hardcore. Any thoughts on the other 2 classes? What talent tree's did you use etc?

I've yet to see a "Boss" though, so is there just one at the end of the dungeon? Or maybe they are just to easy, so I didn't realize.

On normal I only died twice, and once was just because I was trying to take screenshots

there are kind of "bosses" on every few levels, that robot in town gives you the quest for killing each named one
