excessive speeding vs speeding in city?

I'm confuse about how the DRP works. So I just got a ticket for speeding (78 in a 50 zone). with the old DPP I would have gotten 3 points? now DRP say that 1 conviction of excessive speed will get me a bill for 320$ on my next bday.

my violation is 146(1) speeding in municipal/city
excessive speeding is 148(1)

do I still have to pay the $320 just as if I had a 148(1) violation?
If it matter I'm class 5 right now.

You answered your own question. You did not get an excessive speeding ticket. Why do you think you would have to pay premium points for a normal speeding ticket?

thanks for the reassurance.

so regular speeding ticket no longer give points? or is there no more point system with the new DRP?

Both speed against municipality and excessive speeding is 3 points each.

I guess they turned excessive speeding down from 5 to 3.
