Stripping Chrome Lip

Hi guys, Got another question ! I would really appreciate personal experience or DIY'ers input.

If i'm looking to strip a chrome lip off some 19" forged wheels, what should I do if i'm gonna DIY it.

1) Buy a handheld sandblaster and sand blast it one by one
2) Go to some sandblasting shop and rent some blaster booth time and DIY it.
3) use a vibrating sanding machine and sand it with medium paper, say 400 grit.
4) Or forget about it and bring it to a shop like Panthers or Greens - please name me a local shop.

I've also searched that dipping the aluminum wheels into acid bath isn't a good choice. The acid may eat through and destroy the aluminum underneath it. Or someone mentioned that bead or sand blasting the wheel may damage the soft aluminum when it's take the chrome off. Anyone tried this before?

Input please.... Thanks in advance !!
