Hennessey is still in business?

Great68 11-02-2009 06:51 AM

500 horse and only a 12.5?

Something doesn't seem right there.

impactX 11-02-2009 06:52 AM

Well, it's built by Hennessey, may be he didn't install some parts. :lol

Wykydtron 11-02-2009 06:55 AM

Did they turbo the 3.8, or just up the boost on the 2.0T?

68style 11-02-2009 07:41 AM

For some reason I thought he did this with the sedan hahaha... and I was a little disappointed when it wasn't

!SG 11-02-2009 07:56 AM

its a pretty heavy car, so 12.5 isnt bad! probably still needs a lot of tuning. but im sure after that, the numbers will drop quite well.

hk20000 11-02-2009 08:19 AM

The carbon fiber matte black wrap must have added a few hundred kilos to the car.

Berzerker 11-02-2009 08:22 AM

That time is way off for the HP they are claiming especially for a RWD car.

Berz out.

Mugen EvOlutioN 11-02-2009 08:30 AM

pretty slow for 500hp

but oh well

cool i guess

The Gt500 is a heavy car, with less power and does the same or better 1/4 mile.
The stock gen coupe by today's standards isn't even that heavy.
Probably just doesn't have the right tires for drag racing, it is a show car after all

Berzerker 11-02-2009 09:09 AM

Meh yea and who knows what the rear end is like with more power. Maybe they are scared to slap some drag radials or slicks on it for fear of breakage. Would be nice to see what it can do with slicks though.

Berz out.

12.5 sec is normal for 500hp car...

Shelby GT500
500hp
12.9 sec

Lamborghini Diablo
485hp
13.3 sec

NSX-R has lighter weight
mid engine has better traction

GT-R is 4WD
