Yah, I seen this jacket at Holts and it's way overpriced. I've seen this jacket sell for as low as $1000(US) shipping included online but it was red.

Bought a sport collection one the other day...

its hard to find my size ><

I wanted to get this one... I liked the black one but the price is way too overpriced..

But indeed this jacket is very nice.

Which one are you going to get? :)

I got it from a seller on eBay;

http://shop.ebay.com/merchant/boomba..._sopZ10QQ_scZ1

I've purchased a few things from this seller. One of the best sources for designer stuff online. He's located in the Netherlands, ships via FedEx express which takes 2 days max and puts a custom value of under $100 no matter how much the item is. Also, http://www.luisaviaroma.com/ has the black one for $1100 CDN shipped but only in size 44 and I think 52. http://www.farfetch.com/shopping/men...s.aspx?userd=1 has the metallic grey one for $1300 (US) but starting size is 50.

Jeffield 11-03-2009 05:01 PM

For Under $100 are you not afraid if something happens insurance will only cover $100?

It's a risk you have to take if you want to save some money on brokerage and taxes but I've never had a issue...knock on wood.

True that makes sense, that is a lot of brokerage and taxes...

couple hundred..

Thank you so much for all the info tho :)

hmm that seller has the dior homme jeans i want in the right size i might just get it.

so between luisaviaroma and the ebay seller, if they both have the same item it'd be cheaper to get it off the ebay seller? by "puts a custom value of under $100 no matter how much the item is" do you mean he says it's a price lower than what the actual value is so you don't have to pay customs, taxes and all that? sorry lol i don't usually buy online

When you send an item you have to declare how much the item is.

By declaring it at that low price they usually wont tax you even if they do they tax the AMOUNT the item is.

This is sort of cheating the government... but everyone does it..

But if something happens to this item...

You will be insured for how much the item is declared

meaning if they lose it..

Insurance will only pay you back $100

rickross888 11-03-2009 07:27 PM

^ k thanks for clearing that up

Jeffield 11-03-2009 09:08 PM

You are very welcome.

i wouldnt have gone for the metallic one though... i don't think patent is really in anymore as opposed to it was last year. I would go for a more classic look, but its up to you. With that kinda price why not get a moncler one?

Harvey Specter 11-03-2009 10:30 PM

I rarely buy stuff locally but I find in general that designer stuff in Canada is way overpriced and still overpriced when they have sales. If you know your sizes, just buy online. You save tons of money and there are so many deals on eBay. And another tip if you're buying from eBay, don't use "buy it now", make a offer instead. 9 out of 10 times the seller will accept it.

By the way, Saks.com which sells in CDN dollars and ships to Canada is having a crazy sale right now. 40% off on most of their designer stuff.

So got my jacket today. The green looks pretty good especially with blue jeans. It's a very light and very slim fitted jacket so it's not puffy which I like but man is this jacket warm. I wore it out today and I was sweating like a mofo. I had to take it off in the car I was so hot. I guess the real test will be in snowy and cold weather.

+1 for Mackage. Seriously underappreciated, their fit, cut and quality are so good that retail doesn't seem like a sham unlike most "designer" labels of equal price range. Still, a stunning jacket from Dolce, not something I would see everyday.

Another tip I would throw in is if the seller doesn't ship to Canada or you're concerned about being raped by Customs fees, try going through Pt. roberts. I've declared items up to $250 without being dinged a cent of customs before, and I generally just wear pricier items on me while crossing the border, and the gas is ~ 20 cents cheaper per liter so you'll make up for the cost of going there by filling up. CRA takes enough taxes off my paycheque already!
