Now That There's More Than One GSM/UMTS Provider... ...who here is going to switch providers. Nevermind your contracts. Who here is genuinely going to switch providers and why? Now that you have Telus and Bell on UMTS, there's choice (save for Wind Mobile.) :) |
imma stick to rogers.... cause its just better :p |
I'm stoked I don't have to leave Telus to get an iPhone :) |
So...what about the competitive pricing everybody was speculating? I don't see anything out of the ordinary. C'mon! Those of you who bitch and complain all the time! Why haven't you jumped ship yet? |
Telus service has been HORRIBLE for the past year, my calls drop out, my texts won't send, it's just been a pain in the ass. However, their phones FINALLY come out tomorrow, i'm going to be getting a blackberry bold 2, i'm down with the i phone, but still prefer a keyboard... |
No need to jump ship. Network isn't great, but it's acceptable. Retentions is fine for my whole family, so pricing isn't an issue. Phones, I've always used non-carrier phones. As far as they're concerned, I'm still using the Nokia 3120b that they gave me back in 2004. :D |
Might get Telus Hero unlocked on Rogers, but it's not worth jumping ship and losing my craaaazy retentions plan. |
i get decent coverage, got a great plan and decent customer service. I dont see why i should leave fido and jump ship. Why fix wut's broken I always say. |
lol bell have ridiculous fee for iphone plans.. something similar to the fido 65bux plan.. at first the 55bux plan seems attractive.. then you notice.. it doesn't include any txt, visual voicemail, caller id which cost 20bux and i think you only get like 250txt + SAF that's 80+ |
|
I think most people will agree that if you're getting a full data and voice plan in the $40-50 range/month, then there's really no incentive to switch providers because you probably won't get something better. |

Would take a helluva good offer for me to change. |

would it even be possible to call Rogers retention to get them to price match the 9700 on Telus which is about 100$ cheaper. if they are willing to do that, then im pretty sure i will stay on Rogers with another 3yr renewal. no need to jump ship then. |

YES but call center has been getting these calls ALOT they will ask u alot of questions tho u can do this instore as well! |
I love my Bell plan when I compare it to other people and see just how great a deal mine is (and I don't even consider it that good). The only thing that sucked was that I couldn't switch phones if I wanted to. Now I have that too! |
There's no reason to switch (I was/am one of those on the Switching bandwagon) because everyone's plans STILL suck? I still have my fingers crossed for Wind when it deploys. |
Both company's phone plans suck... |
Could you negotiate a better plan in store or through retention only? I'm thinking of getting the $50 plan of Rogers with 500 MB data and getting the Blackberry 9700. |
spent well over an hour with telus today, this is what they offered me $57 a month for, 500mb data, voicemail, call waiting, caller id, unlimited incoming text (250 outgoing...but ill have bbm too..so it should be enough) free evening/weekend after 6, and either 200 anytime minutes, OR 100 anytime plus the my 5 thing......not really an amazing deal. but i want the bold 9700!!!!! |
