Man, is it just me that hates this misty fine-grained rain that just blows everywhere.

There's not enough water to run wipers at full speed, my rain-sensing wipers don't sense enough rain to wipe it off on auto, and if I turn the wipers off I can't see shit instantly.

AzNightmare 10-18-2023 11:52 PM

Well... looks like I need to get a tall ladder. Due to the heavy rain, my failed gutter system has been exposed. Hopefully it's just a clog and nothing worse. Water was coming down the side of the overhang.

Traum 10-19-2023 12:20 AM

I was never a fan of this misty fine-grained rain either, but if you think back to the days when you were a kid, that's exactly how Vancouver's rain used to be -- just a fine misty little fine-grained stuff, or a bit of a drizzle, and you never really needed an umbrella.

Compared to the much heavier rain that we get now, esp during the atmospheric river events, I'd much rather get back the old Vancouver misty rain.

Yesterday was suppose to be one of the wettest days of the year. I guess everyone made it out okay, no flooding or nothing.

westopher 10-19-2023 05:11 AM

Driving to work was BRUTAL though. Visibility was really bad and the amount of people with their lights off in pitch black is fuckin wild. That should be like a $1000 ticket. It's so negligent.

"But my dash lights are on, what do I need outside lights for?"

My manager left in a panic in the afternoon cuz her basement was flooding apparently, haven't heard the update

In South Surrey right now the wind is pretty crazy.

I just heard a loud bang coming from outside not too far from home.

Hopefully my neighbors are ok and stay safe RS!

Finger crossed, but I love my house location. When the power goes out here, it seems always to spare our side of the road while across the street is pitch dark.

MG1 11-10-2023 11:25 PM

Up to 90 kph winds in some areas. Trees gonna be snapping. Good thing my neighbor cut his tree down.

BIC_BAWS 11-10-2023 11:37 PM

Powers out in North Delta and Rogers LTE is slow af. Can barely load RS.

I’m with Freedom. Outside I have 5G, but in the bedroom, I’m at three bar LTE. A far cry from Fibre Gig with Shaw.

AzNightmare 11-11-2023 12:32 AM

Damn... the wind is so strong today...
woke my baby up a few times

MG1 11-11-2023 12:48 AM

15566 customers in Delta/Surrey affected by power outage. Damn.

Badhobz 11-11-2023 01:00 AM

My power was out from ~4AM until 10:30ish. The furnace has some work to do.

Crappy tire in Richmond is closed due to no power. Lousy crappy tire

MG1 11-11-2023 12:27 PM

Power came on at 7:00 am. Just when I was looking up Inverters, hee hee. Then went on and off numerous times. I would reset a whole bunch of stuff only to do it all over again. Went to take a nap. Power was on for a good hour. No WiFi. Like WTH? Shaw service was down. Everything is back to normal. Fridge upsatairs was warm the other two were like nothing happened. Freezers are full, so it kept itself cold.

Traum 12-01-2023 07:44 PM

Well... at least the atmospheric river will make it a warmer for the next little while...

teggy604 12-08-2023 09:15 AM

So a thought came to my mind while I was driving along hwy 1. It was daylight but foggy weather. Most cars do not have their rear tail lights on. The only cars that I see that had their rear tail lights on were the older cars.

Qmx323 12-08-2023 09:19 AM

Noticed that in Richmond too, I thought DRL's come on when you take the parking brake off???

Or do people who park without engaging parking brakes, never "take them off" hence not kicking the DRLs on?

68style 12-08-2023 09:30 AM

He's talking about taillights not headlights...
