Since I was around the Still Creek area, I stopped by the McDonald's just to check it out. It's pretty much all clear now, except for this big pond in the parking lot.
I spotted someone having a bit too much fun. haha
I was tempted to try too, but in a Mazda3, I was a bit sus so didn't want to FAFO.
Some ducks were chilling in there too.

Rest in peace to this school teacher. Sonya McIntyre.
She was the victim of the mudslide near Burke Mountain in Coquitlam. Quarry Road between Calgary Drive and MacIntyre Road. https://www.burnabynow.com/highlight...m-home-9687605
A 57-year-old woman is dead after the Coquitlam home she was in was swept away by a mudslide on Saturday, Oct. 19.
Today, Oct. 21, Coquitlam RCMP said the body of the woman was found Sunday night, Oct. 20, during a recovery effort by Canada Task Force 1 - Urban Search and Rescue and Coquitlam firefighters.
Her family has been notified. Police are not releasing her name; however, she has been publicly identified as Sonya McIntyre, a teacher at Port Moody's Aspenwood Elementary.
In a letter, school principal Don Hutchinson wrote to parents, "It is with great sadness that I am writing to inform you that our longtime teacher, Sonya McIntyre, died Saturday following a tragic accident. She has been a valued member of the Aspenwood community for many years as a teacher, and mentor to students and staff.

Holy shxt... the wind is howling like made in my area right now, even though the sun is out and the skies are bright. There is a shxt ton of broken branches and leaves blown onto my street again, and my neighbour's truck had a long branch -- like 5 - 6m kind -- with the girth of a coke fallen onto it. I should consider myself lucky since my car is only parked on the opposite side from his, and it could easily have been my car that got hit instead.

you may have heard or read about a "bomb cyclone" or a storm system undergoing "bombogenesis." What exactly do these weather terms mean?
In simple terms, bombogenesis is a storm (low pressure area) that undergoes rapid strengthening. The vast majority of such storms occur over the ocean. The storm can be tropical or non-tropical in nature.
Other common phrases for bombogenesis include weather bomb, or simply bomb cyclone.
The term bombogenesis comes from the merging of two words: bomb and cyclogenesis. All storms are cyclones, and genesis means the creation or beginning. In this case, bomb refers to explosive development. Altogether the term means explosive storm strengthening.
A cyclone (non-tropical storm or hurricane) is essentially a giant rising column of air that spins counterclockwise over the Northern Hemisphere.

| People on facebook are really getting upset over this term.

We just had this happen
4 typhoons reaching us one after the other in the last half of November. To get a typhoon at all after October is very rare. One of them was a T8 (schools, shops closed, public transportation shut down), the rest died or moved a different direction. Normal temp for November is low 20's and dry, but this year it's been low 30's and humid. September weather basically. This after the hottest summer on record (and 2025 will beat that, and 2026 will beat that)
I'm sure this will be more and more common, going to December and eventually all year round.

Also, 20 years ago we didn't have 4 atmospheric rivers a year. They happened once every 5 years so people never bothered to remember the terminology.
People on FB are getting upset about it because everything is a conspiracy by the media when you're fucking retarded.

I'm sure this will be more and more common, going to December and eventually all year round. | I was noting how hot it was in HK. 30C in November is odd. The flight in to HK was odd as we were basically being thrown around the whole time. 14.5 hours west bound was odd, 13.5 hours was already really long before.

Good thing I out was putting out trash and recycling for pickup tomorrow. The wind gusts started lifting off the bbq cover and the patio furniture covers. They nearly stealthed off. Had to grab a few bungee cords to keep them secure.
