Where do you get your music?

This question goes out to all of you audiophiles out there. I am by no means an audiophile, but I appreciate good quality in music. Mp3's just don't do the trick unless it has at least a 256 bit rate. So with that being said, where do you guys get your music?

Do you buy your CD's then rip them into your ipod's using a lossless format or do you just download them online? If so, which program do you use? I still use limewire and well... I'm not sure that this is the most up to date program anymore. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

I'm not an audiophile, but I'm kinda anal about my music collection.

I download my music using torrents found on various torrent sites, though I like What.cd the best.

Almost all my music is mp3 V0 or V2, but I can go down to 192 if I havent been able to find any better encode online. I have a few things in lossless, like the Beatles 2009 stereo and mono remasters, among others.

Here's a nice little read about MP3 encoder settings (320, v0, v2, v3, etc.): http://wiki.hydrogenaudio.org/index.php?title=Lame

When I rip CDs I use Exact Audio Copy because it's the most accurate rip available when you have the settings right.

Yeah I am kind of like you in that sense. I don't know if I would be able to tell between a Flac file and a high quality WAV file but I am starting to move away from any files below 256. Finding cds and music above that range is difficult though if you are looking for a specific song that is no longer popular.

Darn, I tried to sign into what.cd but they are invite only :(

Actually there would be no difference between FLAC and WAV since they are both lossless (WAV is the raw audio, FLAC is the raw audio encoded - smaller file, same fidelity and SQ).

www.Beatport.com or www.4shared.com - the latter being free and of questionable legality, use at your own risk.
