Duragloss Nu Glass Review
 

I've been using the DG Nu Glass for about 3 or 4 months now and have to say that I've been very impressed with it. Its very easy to use and leaves the glass clean with a nice shine to it. It will vastly improve your wipers ability to keep the windshield clear and because its not a sealant type of product, will not cause wiper chatter like some glass treatments.

The things you will need.

I have found the MF applicator pads very well suited for this. I put a bead down the center of the pad.

Mist, don't soak, the window with water. The Nu Glass is very concentrated and using it straight makes it very hard to spread and very hard to get off the glass.

Spread the Nu Glass evenly across the glass until its covered completely and starts to dry.

What your glass should look like. Make sure to let it dry.

It'll dry quickly and become very easy to wipe off without streaking.

I like to top it with Rain Science Rain Clear.

Mist a small amount onto the glass. As with the Nu Glass, this is very concentrated and will be a bear to get off if you use too much.

Wipe back and forth with a MF towel until it flashes off and starts to dry. Flip the towel over and buff until its clear.

After these two steps, water will bead up so tiny on the glass that even in town you can get away without using wipers a lot of the time and at 80 kph ( 50mph ) the water will just blow off the glass.

How would you compare the Duragloss to the AutoGlym Glass Polish?

Okay this might be a dumb question because I'm totally new at this whole detailing thing haha.

So my TL has some streaks inside the windshield and outside, my mom wouldn't listen to me when I told her to stop using Windex and paper towels haha. So now I have to fix it. Which one do I use to make rain bead up? The Rain Science Rain Clear or the Duragloss Nu Glass? I'm currently using Eagle 1 20/20 for the inside but I don't think that makes rain bead if I use it outside? Correct me if I'm wrong.

it's alright. I'll just get both. Haha I don't mind paying for more if it gets rain beading well :D how long does it usually last? :) bah sorry for all these newbie questions :(

Ken, how many windshields can you do with the nu glass and rain clear?

I usually redo the Nu Glass every few months. It doesn't need to be done very often and top up the Rain Science when the water isn't beading really small and tight on the glass. For me its about every 3-4 weeks.


I don't know. I haven't been able to go through a bottle of either yet. You'll be sharing it for sure. LOL The Rain Science goes a long way as you use so little per application. Even if you use it on all your windows monthly, you probably would get a year out of a bottle.

Noob question: Does Nu Glass work on the inside of the windshield?
It's really hard to clean the inside of the windshield without leaving those streaks when the windshield fogs up.

you mean doing the windows with the Nu Glass?
or just simply wipe to clean it?

i been having trouble cleaning the interior windshield, all sorts of glass chemical spray seems to leave some sort of residue....annoying as hell

Does this product need to be worked in like a polish or simply covered, dried, and buffed off like a wax? I have some pretty bad water spots on the sunroof glass that I can't seem to get off.

I was talking about cleaning the inside windows with normal glass cleaner. If your interior windows are dirty, you can use Nu Glass as well, but I would warm the inside of the car a bit to help avoid any issues with condensation.

The main thing is to use a cleaner that is alcohol based, not ammonia based like Windex. The other things are to make sure it is warm inside the car and use two towels, Make sure the towel you are using to dry the glass is dry and not damp. If the buffing towel is damp, you'll never get streak free glass. Most of the crud on your windshield can be attributed to a few things. Air conditioning will leave a film on the glass when in use. The biggest thing is the toxins released by the interior materials in your car. The newer the car, the more toxins are released.

I have had great success with the Nu Glass and a MF applicator pad. Just using it by hand has removed the water spots from all but one sunroof. Just follow the directions above and you should be golden. Spritzing the glass with water first is paramount in getting the Nu Glass to come off easily.
