Why don't you just wear a white shirt? White shirts may be 'boring', but they go with everything and look good on just about anyone (which will in turn make you feel good during your photoshoot.) If you want to stand out, get one with French cuffs and make sure that the cuff is peaking out from your suit jacket.

Slim cut, no shirt pocket. Pick a suitable fabric - Oxford or herringbone - and you're good to go. Throw in a pocket square and you'll look classier than all of your friends in purple/pastel shirts.

^yeah I think I will end up going with white that and I really have no time left, heck 20 years from now at least I won't go "what the fuck was I thinking wearing a (mauve/aloe/aqua/fuschia/etc) shirt!?!?!!

ilvtofu 11-12-2009 04:53 PM

3xta 11-12-2009 09:37 PM

i dont wanna call out all your flaws for color selections, but i guess your young so do whatever you want and learn from it.

black shirt w/ black suit + white tie = wannabe mobster. just so you know

if your really having trouble, try to buy the tie and the shirt at the same place so at least u can try on both at the same time to see if the colors work.

You didn't state how much you are looking to spend. But considering u r in high school i'd suggest getting a SLIM FIT dress shirt from H&M. Quality shirt for the cheap price tag...

nosleepboy87 11-14-2009 06:57 PM

never liked g2000 too much
nothing beats my brooks brothers non-iron slim fitting shirts for work
2 for 179 right now, just picked up 2 today. i can work in them all day and they look still crisps clean at the end of the day

svelt 11-15-2009 11:33 AM

Get a proper dress shirt, that is one that is long enough so you can actually tuck it in without it flying out every 10 minutes. For fit, Paul Smith is quite good if you're fairly slim, and run around $100 on sale at Holts. BB is excellent, 2 for $179 is hard to beat and these will last years. Ralph Lauren's "Black Label" at Holts is woven with some of the finest fabric I've ever worn, is actually made in Italy, and I've seen them as low as $100 as well. Don't pay $250 for some Boss shirt, you're doing yourself and your wallet a great disservice. Skip the french cuff shirts - too flashy for your age and most work settings, and make sure sleeves are long enough to reach the base of your thumb so you can properly wear a suit with it - you want your shirt to be as versatile as possible. Make sure the neck isn't too tight when you button up the top button - you need to be able to wear a tie with it after all.

Mexx is awful, any more than $20 and you're ripping yourself off. Buttons fall off faster than panties on an e. hastings hooker. Banana Republic is actually quite sturdy in construction, but ignore the "woven in Italy" tag - it's still made in India and their fits are only good if you're short and bulky. Their slim fit line is OK, but is still too short for taller people. If you pay retail for them you'd be paying as much or even more than a fine BB shirt on a discount and that's just...lunacy.

nosleepboy87 11-16-2009 06:34 PM

only buy bananarepublic shirts when they have there 40% off coupon
thats as much as they r worth IMO :p
go to Brooks Brothers and have them measure you if you want exact measurements you should be looking for. those guys actually know what they are doing. most sales ppl i find can't measure a guy properly for their shirt size...almost all i ran into just measure you up to the base of your palm and you are suppose to go to the base of your thumb....
