they won't get a giant lumpsum of $50mil, its stated on every lottery (even the mcdonalds 1 million prize) that they only get paid a certain amount every year. so maybe in 25 years, they will have the whole 50mil.

Not true, Canadian lottery pays it all up front they will recieve a cheque in full for 50 million dollars or whatever the exact number is they won.
