95 civic

in the mornings, it shakes like crazy when engaging 1st gear, clutch? any ideas what could be messing up?

shenmecar 11-11-2009 05:34 PM

maybe the tranny is cold. is it still shaky after it warms up?

Phil@rise 11-13-2009 10:11 AM

sounds like a possible clutch issue. when was the last time the tranny oil was changed?

ChogyGT 11-14-2009 10:16 AM

no clue, its a cold issue, tranny oil good idea, also sounds like gear whine?

Phil@rise 11-14-2009 10:58 AM

could be a bearing if its whining most likely on the idler shaft in the tranny if its only first gear if it were all gears it could be the input shaft

Is that counter shaft?

is it difficult to shift into first when cold? and when you mean engaging first gear, do mean as in starting off, taking foot off clutch pedal?

Ya, taking foot off clutch pedel, shift into gears really smooth,
