anyone good with video edit?

hey,
i recorded some stuff on my cam corder... when i transfered the files to my computer, it turned out to be a MOD/MOI. file
I downloaded a AVS converter which allows me to convert it back to WMV file.. but its got this advertisement shit in the middle cause i didnt pay for the activation fee...
has anyone encountered the same problem? if so, any suggestions of what i can do?
