no joke... NOKIA 6682...
circa Rogers Wireless 2005....

my god...
RED pearl

and now this

what is more shocking is that symbian S60 is not for the everyday consumer...yet it is targeted for the visually impaired. This phone talks to you. Quite sad...

This is going to be one very sad xmas for the dog...

Did anyone else have the original Sony Clearnet phone? That was my first cell, when I was still in high school. Back then, it was rare for a student to have a cell phone too :lol

Another one of my favourites was the 8390. I believe I sold it to someone on RS when Fido came out with its GSM network

Or wait, I am confused. The one I sold was before the 8390, and was my last CDMA phone with Clearnet. It was a Nokia that looked similar, but had a chameleon finish.. Anyone remember this one?

SkinnyPupp 11-12-2009 09:43 AM

Ah, it was the Nokia 6188. Can't find a good picture of it though, just this

And of course my first Windows Mobile phone, O2 XDA II. Never known as HTC Himalaya, but that's what it was :)

I remember my first phone was the Nokia 5190 after my pager broke. This was still in highschool and I remember everyone "riced" out their 5190 with flashing antennas, changed the keypad, changed the case, put a background sticker behind the LCD of a Honda Civic Type R. That phone also had a lot of dust built up behind the screen. I miss it, and the original snake game :(

I can't remember the exact phones I had, I know it was something like

Clearnet Sony (circa 1998)
Clearnet Nokia 6188

Then I switched to Fido and got

Nokia 5190

At some point, I had these. I can't remember which I got first:

Nokia 8390
Ericsson T68

Then I started using Pocket PC, and got:

O2 XDA II (HTC Himalaya)
iMate Jam (HTC Magician)
HTC Touch
Samsung i8000 Omnia II

The HTC Touch was my least favourite. It is SO SLOW and has nowhere near enough ram.

The 8390 was probably my favourite non-smartphone I ever had. The 6188 was also very good. If Symbian didn't suck so much cock, I would probably still be using Nokia, they are great phones.

bcrdukes 11-12-2009 09:25 PM

The Nokia 8390 is by far, one of the best phones Nokia made. During its time, there was no other product that matched its superb build and RF quality. Mind you, that phone did at one point (again, at the time as well) cost an arm and a leg. But it was worth it. :D

Ikkaku 11-12-2009 09:40 PM

5190
3390
T200
T310
