VW Citi

Did you know that you could still buy first generation (yes the ones from the '70s) brand new in South Africa?

They sell for about $12,000 CDN.

delSol97 11-12-2009 06:01 PM

Wow heh nifty.

VW is kinda cool that way.

danizer 11-13-2009 01:01 AM

HOLY CRAP.....
*imports...makes into MkI GTI*

skyxx 11-13-2009 01:16 AM

I believe they have stopped production on the Mk1's recently and is being replaced by the new golfs apparently.

!Aznboi128 11-13-2009 11:08 AM

actually if you ever looked at the interior it has been fully updated

StealthFighter 11-13-2009 11:16 AM

VW likes to milk their products. the old beetle, essential, was the same model for 60 years.

skyxx 11-13-2009 11:23 AM

I don't know about you guys but I like it. I'll take one in blue. Old school body meets up with modern interior!

ziggyx 11-13-2009 02:29 PM

^^ That's pretty cool of VW to do that.

I wish some other car manufacturers could do the same with some old school cars that I really liked:(

shantz 11-13-2009 02:46 PM

I'd buy one

yvrnycracer 11-13-2009 09:40 PM

i believe the production of the mk1 has officially ended as of a month or so ago...

would have to wait 15 years at least to import one of these... but to say the least it would be pretty cool/unique to have a brand new mk1...

.Renn.Sport 11-13-2009 10:56 PM

or just buy a used one and put in new parts

jeepwreck 11-13-2009 11:02 PM

ya i know i want one of these so bad to park next to my mk2

but too bad they stop making them and i have to wait so long before i can buy one
