need help: program autostart remote?

bought my car used, it comes with compustar/autostart remote start. one of the remote doesn't work and I've found one on ebay.

I don't know which model of the remote start is. I've look inside the car and the only thing I found is a little black box witha red and blue wire.

here's a pic of the remote FCC ID: NAHSAW4

anybody know how can I reprogram the remote?

I dont believe thats a compustar remote of any vintage. Not one that I've ever seen and I've been dealing with them for 5-6 years.
If you infact have a compustar alarm you need a compustar remote there is no intermingling with alarms and remotes. I do have a few compustar pager remotes instock both new and used.

Siu-P you should be able to find instructions for that system at http://www.astroflex.com/

However drop in to a local shop and ask them to have a look. I'm sure you shouldn't have to spend much to have someone have a look. Good luck

thanks for the reply.

I am not 100% sure that's a Compustar or not. It has Compustar sticker on windows so I assume it's a Compustar remote start.

Most definitely not a Compustar remote, it's an Astro Start or Arctic Start... something along those lines. Looks like something Future Shop used to sell.,, I just can't think of the name right now.

hat kind of car do you have, we may be able to tell you where to look for the components inside the vehicle.

it's an 01 Nissan Pathfinder

The system is most likely on the drivers side under the dash. You might have to pull the lower dash panel under the steering column to get a better look.

this is the little black box I've mention

dude, where's the key? It won't autostart without it. That's the only function of this box. It should have been hidden.

catalin 11-15-2009 10:52 PM

Yeah you'll need a key in there or a better bypass module. Follow the red/black wiring to find the starter module.

Phatmobile 11-16-2009 07:21 PM

yes there's a key there, I just took that out and put in an older one in it. key in that box was a brand new one.

Phatmobile 11-17-2009 05:12 PM

found out what it is now, it's an AUTOSTART AS-1725 SH

Phatmobile 11-25-2009 04:57 PM
