Robert Knipstrom Police Brutality!
 

The video of the arrest was just released this week. part 1/2

Forensic pathologist Dr. Danny Straathof said Knipstrom's cause of death was "acute intoxication" with ecstasy, but he noted Knipstrom had been "physically agitated," then restrained and handcuffed before a "cardiac arrest," which led to "severe damage to the brain due to a lack of oxygen." He died ultimately from "multiple-organ failure." Straathof noted there is "considerable controversy" surrounding the role of face-down restraint in sudden death.

Knipstrom, whose head and face were covered in blood, had been crying out continually and resisting restraints during a chaotic scene at the EZE Rent-it Centre where he was arrested, as well as in the ambulance and hospital. Knipstrom was Tasered six times, pepper-sprayed and struck with a police baton.He later died in RCMP custody.

dont tell me I'm gonna be the only one who says it looks like he was being a prick and the cops were being pretty reasonable in the videos..he got himself into that situation by NOT cooperating

I'm kinda on the fence about this.

UNLIKE the dziekanski case, where he clearly was not resisting arrest or on any drugs plus the RCMP in court admitted they lied, evidence they were going to taser him well before they got to the airport...this is different

this guy was arresting resist, and continued to do so even after receiving the batons/pepper sprays...

Drug users deserve NO sympathy! They asked for it and had it coming.

Plus from the vid, the cops are being extremely gentle on him already. No kneel or full body weight on his head, no punching, smashing his head on the floor...etc (Well, that may be becoz there is a camera pointing at them)

wow, the guys a tank, got bashed to the ground, tazered, AND batoned! i need a guy like him when i get into a fight! :D

I give no sympathy for this POS. For all you that sympathize with this guy and say fuck all pigs.

Have this guy live next to you , stir up shit in your neighborhood. Then let's see how much you sympathize with him and say fuck all cops.

i dont think the police did anything wrong. he was under E, dying of organ failure would only happen if your body was fucked up like that. a normal person under a face down restraint would have no problem coping with it

id like to see security footage of the takedown of the suspect, to see how he got so bloodied and if he initially resisted.


im not familiar with the consequences of being laid face down for so long (even on the ambulance) when injured/tasered/high, which is what this case is about.

Having said that the video didnt show anything to me that was outrageous.. the lady officer tried leaning on his back and the male officer told her to get off, they tried turning him onto his back but he resisted and went back onto his face... so i dont know if you can blame anyone for keeping him/allowing him to stay on his stomach
