iPod Video repair

Somehow rain water got into my ipod 30GB, don't know how much water got in.
I let it dry for 24 hours and it wont turn on. What are my options?

The iPod itself is MINT condition, its always been in a rubber case. I'd hate to just throw it away, also it was a sentimental gift.

i rebuilt my ipod video 30gb for a few reasons, 1 the jack plug stoped working most of the time
2 the battiery was getting less peppy
3 the the case was ugly

you can buy ALL the parts to build an ipod from scratch on ebay, it was very cheap, and with a little time its easy to rebuild from scratch or upgrade, you can put on the bigger case and HDD and make it a 80gb or 120gb

first determine what parts are still good

case is probably fine, the scroll wheel i would guess is ok, that battery might be good but test it first... over all once you open it up you may have more clues as to what happened and what its worth to fix it, go on utube and there are guides that will show you on to how to open it, once your inside look for little burn marks and things. give me a pm if u think i can help more

you will need a very small screw drive and tweezers are very helpful depending on how much of it u take a part, i will gladly do the work for you but i live in Chilliwack and i dont drive right now, and note i can do work needed to fix it, i am not as confident as to if i can find the problem, but again, i can try.

Throw it into a bowl of uncooked rice. That should dry it out.
