+1

The buying and selling power of good glass in the used market. What you get from BH or Adorama new is the best bang from the buck already

ok thnx

with some glass (~$1000-1500) the difference after shipping and tax to a frnd in the US is only a hundred dollars compared to if i got a frnd to bring it to me from Alberta

ya that sounds about right. i want to get another 24-70L and it was $1370 after exchange rate from adorama (cheaper than B&H and amazon) and at broadway camera they have it for $1349 before taxes. After tax it's less than $200 difference. There's not goin to be $500 difference in any type of lens, especially with the poor state of the USD, lots of places are adjusting the prices accordingly. Adorama jacked their price on that lens by $200 when the USD was at 97cents. fuk me.

even if you get lenses from asia (hk or china) the price is almost the same. Only thing you save is tax. Lenses in the UK however are fuking overpriced, 24-70 is 1000 GBP, with exchange rate its close to $1900....

there is a website that posts all the major sales for black friday in the states. Its geared towards Canadians shopping in the states during black friday

www.blackfriday.ca not much stores for lenses, but there are stores that sell other photography stuff i.e. amazon, best buy, etc.
